Harmony has been restored
Finally! My boyfriend snores so loud that when we moved in together I thought we'd have to sleep in separate rooms. I've tried every ear plug going and thought I must have the biggest ear holes in the entire world as nothing seemed to drown out the noise enough for me to sleep. And even if it did drown out a little noise my ears were so sore during the night or the next morning. It drove me crazy. Like crying at the slightest little thing crazy, because I was just so tired! Anyway the point is these little bundles of foam are a god send. They're nice and soft so they don't hurt my ears, they expand enough to drown out the noise (but I still hear my alarm in the morning which I'm sure my boss is pretty pleased about) and my boyfriend no longer suffers an elbow in the ribs through the night. Overall I'm pretty impressed :)

Quite good ear plugs
These ear plugs are quite good and do block out more noise than other ear plugs that I have used in the past, however, I did not find them to be as good as other reviewers had said they were. I am fairly happy with my purchase, but slightly disappointed at the same time, if that makes sense. Still, if you do not sleep next to a loud snorer and only want to block out street noises etc., I think that these ear plugs would more than fit the bill.

Amazing!
My boyfriends snoring has woken me up every night for the past month or so, I'm a very light sleeper and I find it hard to sleep once I wake. Usually I was listening to my iPod every night to block the sounds out, but it still woke me up and in the morning I'd have quite a headache. For the past couple of weeks I've also had constant unbroken sleep which has also left me feeling very tired throughout the day. I found a review of these online and I didn't believe they'd work as well as they said, but I was willing to give anything a try! I've used ear plugs in the past and the next day the insides of my ears have been very sore. I tried these ear plugs for the first time last night, and I slept the whole way through! I didn't hear a sound throughout the night and was the best sleep I've had in a long time! My ears were a little sore this morning but nothing compared to standard ear plugs, and the pain has gone already, whereas it would last 1-2 days with earplugs. These are a saving grace to me! Would 100% recommend them to anyone like me, light sleeper or loud snoring partner!

Incredibly overrated
Didn’t realise at the time of purchase that these are the same cheap foam earplugs used widely in industry and usually dispensed from a container fixed to a wall containing hundreds. The packaging is obviously the absolute cheapest that the seller could get away with and somehow by putting The British Snoring Association on there manages to convince everyone that it’s a quality product when you can buy 50 pairs at Screwfix for the same price!I would try and get my money back but I really can’t be bothered 😕

Good ear plugs to use when sleeping - plus some general information for buying ear plugs
Overall, I’m quite impressed with these earplugs. Having had some experience of the safetywear industry I know that this product is expensive, the cost to make disposable earplugs is only a few pence, plus a little more for packaging. I purchased these as I was interested to see how they performed against standard safety variants, my conclusion is that they are comparable in noise reduction but are somewhat softer which is better for use whilst sleeping. They probably are the best you can buy for blocking out noise whilst sleeping. Here are some things to consider when buying ear plugs for eliminating snoring noise –No ear plug will ever completely block out noise. The whole body actually absorbs sound and this is also transmitted to our hearing system. Unless we are in a sound proof room, there will always be some sound getting through when wearing ear plugs.SNR rating – these earplugs are rated at SNR 37. The rating is a European standard for measuring how much ambient noise is reduced by when using the ear plug. Here is a chart of typical ambient noise levels.20 dB Rustling leaves, mosquito buzzing30 dB Whisper40 dB Stream, refrigerator humming50-60 dB Quiet office50-65 dB Normal conversation60-65 dB Laughter60-90 dB Snoring (yes, really!)70 dB Vacuum cleaner, hair dryer75 dB Dishwasher78 dB Washing machine80 dB Refuse lorry, city traffic noiseAs mentioned earlier, the SNR rating of these ear plugs is 37. Therefore, if someone is snoring next to us at 90dB, the amount of dB we will hear when wearing the plugs is around 50dB, similar to that of someone having a conversation with us.As far as I am aware, the highest SNR rated ear plug is 39dB, the Snore Calm Elite are close to that. Actually, the SNR rating is made up of 3 different measurements, at low, medium and high frequency ranges. The Snore Calm Elite doesn't actually state what the rating is for low frequency which is where snoring sound resides. I suspect it is around SNR 30.The effectiveness of any soft ear plug is determined by the fit within the ear canal. It can take quite a lot of practice to get this right. The plug should fit quite deep into the ear canal. Only the flared end of the plug should be outside of the canal. The Snore Calm Elite are extremely soft which means it can be sometimes difficult to get deep into the ear canal, especially if your ear canal is small. All in all, I found these ear plugs to be as good as you can get for sleeping purposes, although they are very expensive.Hope this information helps.
