Awesome !!
I’ve used a lot of canvas wall tents, this one went up in 12 minutes, has insane floorspace, great ventilation, and breaks down just as easy. Well worth it !!

review more on the seller than the product
i bought this for my recent camping trip but ended up returning due to design defect. it's hard to describe the problem without showing actual parts but in short, the way two side poles support the upper beam is not only very hard to set up properly but also very risky. on each side of upper beam (1 inch diameter heavy metal) there is a round bump facing downward. each side poles top basically hooks on onto this bump and it's bottom end is supposed to be tightly connecting to bottom clips which has metal part facing upwards. it is virtually impossible to make this end clip face upwards as most campgrounds are dirts. when you stake these end clips, it would get piled under the dirt, making the angle impossible to connect with the side poles securely and tightly. it would take harder ground for this to even face up straight. nonetheless, i was disappointed with this high-end canvas tent and ended up returning it as defect expecting full refund as i normally get from any items returned to amazon. however seller provided partial refund w/o any explantion. i contacted amazon and seller responded in email with merely saying there is 20% restocking fee as advertized. i went back to product page and there is no mention of restocking fee. (i hope they don't add it today to invalidate my statement). 20% of this expensive tent is quite bit. i felt seller could have at least tried to accommodate my concerns and take more effort to explain rather than just a plain one-liner. there was no greeting nor any appreciation nor any acknowledgement. i contacted amazon for the 2nd time and dispute is still in progress. hopefully amazon can intervene and get me the remainder of refunds.as for short review won the tent itself, it's not for everyone contrary to all the great feedbacks on kodiak products. do not get this tent if any of following is true for you.- light camper- minimalist- usually stays short days for camping- prefer free standing tent- camps on all kinds of ground type (soft dirt, dirt, grass, sand, concrete, etc)- be able to set up/tear down fast- not strong enough to carry very heavy tenti believe first set up will be hard. subsequent set up would be easier. however, it's not freestanding tent and heavily depends on the type of ground you're trying to set up the tent on. it's too restrictive to find right/firm ground that's gonig to work for this tent. my friend has same tent and he never tries to conenct side poles to bottom clip. he just buries the pole underground. i'd say it's very risky and the top beam may fall on your face if not set up correctly/securely. but it is that hard to set this up correctly. canvas materials were very high end but i could tell it'd require good maintenance. i did not get to test waterproof feature.

might rot
When I first received my rent I was thrilled! I've had it up for 3 months in my backyard and camp in it almost every night. Recently I noticed the points where the poles go into the hooks has torn from the floor on both sides. Then I saw a spot where the stake goes in was also coming apart. I contacted Kodiak and they claim its canvas rot and they won't warranty the tent. I don't recommend this tent to be set up for longer than a month.

Very well made
got the 10x10 VX delux Tent. Just got back from central Wyoming hunting trip. Rained 5 night and had winds gust to 50 mph, not unusual for the great plains.Tent was dry, and sturdy. extremely well made/designed. Made in china with high quality sewing and canvas. It only took this 78 year old 50 minutes to set up in BLM lands. I camp alone, and it was very roomy for my large camp cot and two tables.Only negative is the ground cloth is slightly too big. rain on the side of tent can run down and get onto top of ground cloth. It must be centered exactly, or it will put water between the tent floor and the ground cloth. Toay, I just cut 6" off each side.Next camping trip will begin next week with 5 days camping the Pennsylvania mountains.this is not a backpacking tent, way too heavy. all poles are heavy steel, (not Al).

Pleased so far
Just received my new tent 3 days ago. I set it up in my driveway to inspect it for shipping damage and found none. Tent contained all hardware . Set-Up was easy although tent is heavy. The set-up procedure is well thought out. My first job was to season the tent which I did using my hose on spray setting. Do not blast the canvas or use a pressure washer. A little later in the day it rained really hard and I noticed 3 seams leaking. The book and Youtube say this can be expected until the canvas gets soaked and fully dried so that the needle holes will close up. This makes sense but I still couldn't fully believe it till I saw it. Tent dried out and I could see that the tent was tightening up somewhat because the doors became hard to zip shut. I readjusted the corner spikes to give it some room for adjustment and all is well. Rained really hard through the night and when I inspected it next day there was not a drop inside. Seasoning as per instructions seems to work as promised. Will take it out for a field test next week. I know that canvas is a different kind of animal vs nylon and I plan to be overly careful and use any and all preventative maintenance to guarantee that it lasts a long time. The thing that I keep reading is to make sure to put it up bone dry. Canvas will mold and/or rot if wet. Sorry to read about others having a canvas rot problem. I plan to use Kiwi silicone on the areas that are close to the ground such as the stake points. My only experience so far is with the seasoning which went well.

Very nice tent
I have owned this tent for 5-6 years. It's very easy to set it up and take it down. Need to keep it dry when storing it so it doesn't get molded up
