Great, maybe perfect garden knife - a bargain.
I like the Lambfoot style of knife for general garden use. Great for cutting string, light pruning, grafting, sharpening sticks and most garden tasks. The construction is light but strong and the spring is strong enough to stop it closing in use - you need to take care when closing as it can snap shut pretty briskly. The blade is sharp out of the box and being straight edged is easy to hone and sharpen. The only thing I would like to see is a nail nick, it would be safer to open if it had one - you just need to be firm when opening. However for anyone lacking in the fingernail department the blade is easy to open. This knife is amazing value and matches many others that are twice the price.I came back to this review and upped the stars to five because out of about twenty folding garden knives this one is my favourite, better than some costing three times as much.

Excellent, better than the non locking version !
Excellent no nonsense general work knife, mine came reasonably sharp and with a quick strop on the back of my belt. I could shave the hairs from my arm ! A testament to the quality of carbon steel used. The locking mechanism is simple and effective liner lock, made from spung steel by the looks it engages well with a satisfying CLICK. And secures the blade firmly while in use it's released with no issues via the cut out half moon in the handle by pressing the mental plate liner and beginning to shut the blade. It's not going to get pressed by accident like on some knives I've owned, I've used the knife for whittling although to big really for detail work it's superb for removing large amounts and shaping. But it's mainly become a general knife round the house, garden and work place its brilliant. Remember to give it a light oil now and then blade and joint and your golden. Should last many a year.

Solid basic knife which isn't too expensive if lost.

4 Stars
Mine arrived relatively dull, it could just barely slice paper but not cleanly, but after sharpening it does take a razor sharp edge, and because the edge is straight it's really easy to sharpen. Normally I wouldn't think too much of not being razor sharp out of the box, however the factory grind was slightly uneven too which is the main reason I've knocked off a star. I've seen worse, but you can clearly see that the knife has been twisted slightly as it's been sharpened, so the bevel is wider at the tip on one side, and at the handle side on the other. This is a relatively minor problem though, and will probably come out as it's sharpened anyway, and like I said sharpening is really easyIt works well for carving/whittling, it's somewhat large at 2.5 inches along the cutting edge but it makes a nice roughing knife, or one to just carry around in your pocket if you whittle outdoors, and it has a nice thin blade which is perfect for it. The handle is thick and comfy too, much better than a swiss army knife for exampleIt's also legal to carry in the UK, the cutting edge is 2.5 inches, the overall folded length is 3.75, unfolded is 6.5, and the handle is approximately 12mm thick (a little under half an inch)While the handle is plastic and it doesn't look amazing, it seems like a great, functional knife so far, I'll update this in the future to say how it's holding up too but it seems pretty sturdy so far (although it is pretty stiff to open, like other reviewers have noted, and there's no nail nick, you just need to grip the blade between fingers)

Good, Cheap and Does The Job
Nice, basic non expensive knife. I use it for it's intended purpose for lambs hoof trimming (which it does well), but it's a knife so you can pretty much do anything a regular pocket knife can. Easy to maintain and not the end of the world if you lose it in a field.

Misleading advertising
I bought this thinking the handle was lambsfoot, misleading as blade shape lambsfoot, handle plastic.. very misleading

Excellent for wood carving
Bought for wood carving, the blade takes a good edge. The price is good, and it works well. One regret, I found later that it is available with a lockable blade which I would have preferred.
