VeeTee - Thai Jasmine Rice - Microwavable, Gluten Free, 300 g (Pack of 6)

This is either the 2nd or 3rd delivery so had no problem. But been to open the box this morning and found that the rice was mouldy. Never seen any thing like it to be honest. The other packs in the box don't appear to be as bad as the first. But I am so annoyed as this should have been seen when sending out the package. It was on the top and should have been noticed. Will not buy from this seller again. Will go back to getting it from the supermarket. I know its not the product that's at fault its the seller. DISGUSTED!! now I just have to fight for a refund. Buyer beware!!

I find cooking rice from scratch laborious. Either I do too much or it's too wet or dry and overcooked. I can't seem to get it right so prefer packaged microwave rice for ease. Even if you can cook rice yourself this is perfect for the occasion when you just don't have time or want something easy. The pack is the perfect size as a side for two people to accompany a meal or a whole pack for one of rice is the main affair. The flavour is brilliant and the rice is beautiful and fluffy, perfectly done every time. Much better than any other microwave packs. I find uncle Ben's is not even an option for me anymore as it sticks together and has a claggy texture but this rice never does and only takes 2 minutes

It is good to still get hold of this size of packaging the only ones I can find in shops is the new style that consists of two smaller packs in one which is not enough to feed the three people it is necessary for. When I can't get it anymore I will have to revert again to the longer method of cooking it from scratch.

The label states 'Rice so good' you needn't cook from scratch again.If I could afford to buy Veetee's rice all the time yes I'd take that option.But as it is I use this only on special occasions.It's superb and has a wonderful aroma when cooked (from cumin seeds,not mice droppings!). And as my fellow reviewers have stated its perfect when cooked in a microwave oven,unlike some brands I've used where the rice ends up lumpy.Is the secret that Veetee instruct you to half peel back the covering film,not retain it and pierce holes in the cover?In my family we probably eat larger portions than provided in each pack so I also cook my own plain Basmati rice when serving this pilau rice.It's a marvellous addition to any curry dish you serve,and again it's one of Amazon's 'Add-on items' which means you can save on delivery costs.Very worthwhile buying this for the quality and convience.Highly recommended.

A fine product with the twist of Wild Rice giving a nice texture and taste to the standard basmati. One tip for the microwave is make sure to unsettle the rice prior to cooking. It tends to get compressed and if cooked in that state, it comes out dry for some reason. I agitate the rice by bashing it around whilst sealed (even flexing the packet to break up the contents) and find it cooks better and comes out well cooked and moist

I was really hesitant to buy ready-made rice, especially as we're usually low on fridge space. Imagine my delight at finding out that it is a 'long-life' product which the company assured me should last up to 12 months in the cupboard. I bought one at the supermarket to do a taste test before buying it in quantity on Amazon and it was really good! The only caveat was that I prefer my rice a bit more moist, but the addition of a tablespoon of water makes it perfect, just peel back the film, add water (if that's your preference), and two minutes in the microwave - lovely fluffy rice and no messy saucepans! This is especially nice for me as it's much easier for my OH (the cook in our family) to make rice just for me -- result!! So I've now bought my first 'six-pack' and am trying some of Veetee's other flavours, yum ;-)

This rice is quite simply the best you can buy if you are not ordering from a restaurant!The rice takes only 2 mins to cook in the microwave which is very convenient for me and once ready is soft and fluffy, perfect to go with anything from curries to chilli to stroganoff! Much much tastier than boil in the bag or the uncle bens rice pouches.The price is excellent on Amazon and equated to less than £1 per tub which is cheaper than the supermarket unless there is a special offer!A food cupboard essential...stock up now!

I am torn between this and Tilda Brown Whole Grain Rice! Both are perfect, so it depends on the dish or my mood.Here, I get two generous portions per pack. With Curry, Chicken Soup or Buffalo Wings, yum! Two minutes in MicroWave, no washing up, @ less than 50p a portion, especially when bought on S&S its silly not to have in store cupboard.
