‘Another way that you can save money is to donate items to Goodwill or similar non- profit organizations.’
This book is free on Kindle UnlimitedAuthor Eric Michael is an entrepreneur or the home base type. In this book he explains that the information provided was compiled after twelve years of internet research and personal experiences developed a unique skill set – the ability to find a diverse selection of free items (or priced under $ 1) that could be sold on the internet for surprisingly good money. Eric has sold well over 10,000 unique items that were located for under $ 1 on the internet at an average price of over $10 an item. He has gone on to develop a popular website titled Garage Sale Academy that incorporates portions of this book, and expands into other arenas of profiting from flipping garage sale, thrift store and flea market finds, as well as helping garage sale hosts make maximum cash at their sales. Making money from home sound good? Read on!As Eric shares in his Preface, ‘The purpose of this document is to provide the motivated person with a variety of ways to make some quick, easy money with very little initial investment. There are hundreds of sources of income lying around your house, or on your property right now. There are hundreds more available for free in your community, if you are willing to talk to people and do some leg-work. You need to have a basic understanding of how to handle your business and how to effectively process items and materials before you start latching onto your swag. You should learn how to identify good targets on your own, before limiting yourself to the 520 items that I have found for free and sold. After reading this book, you will be able to immediately spot good sources of free money… This document’s primary goal is to provide many different avenues for profit, and provide background knowledge that allows the reader to decide which sources of income are right for them.’Eric divides his teaching into the following categories: START-UP: INITIAL ASSESSMENT, HOW AND WHERE TO SELL, SELLING ON EBAY AND AMAZON, WHERE TO FIND ITEMS TO SELL, FINDING INVENTORY ONLINE, THE BOTTOM LINE ON EBAY BUYING, GARAGE SALES SHOPPING, RESEARCHING, FREE ITEMS TO SELL: OUTDOORS, ORGANIC ITEMS, MAN-MADE ITEMS, SELLING SCRAP METAL: EASIEST MONEY YOU’LL EVER MAKE, GETTING STARTED SELLING SCRAP METAL, SEPARATING SCRAP METALS, A TRIP TO THE SCRAP METAL DEALER, PRECIOUS METALS: FAST, EASY MONEY, WHERE TO FIND GOLD FOR CHEAP, WHAT TO DO WITH YOUR GOLD AND SILVER CONTACTS, NOTES ON PRECIOUS METALS IN COINS!, NOTES ON SATELLITE DISHES AND RECEIVERS, SELLING SCRAP METAL ON EBAY, TO KEEP ASSEMBLED, OR DISASSEMBLE; THAT IS THE QUESTION!, MAXIMIZE PROFITS IN VINTAGE ELECTRONICS, and TREATING YOUR BUSINESS AS A BUSINESS: INCOME TAX ISSUES.It is all here and with Eric sound judgment and experience, think almost free money. LOTS of great information
As the title states, there is a boat load of information here. Easy enough to read and can be read in one sitting. There is an appendix at the end which has even MORE great websites and even more information! One of the few books that actually 100% delivers and then some. If you want to make some money, or earn enough to make a decent living I truly believe this book, if you APPLY all the info here, will get you there!

Good info especially for a beginner
Our families were raised with a lot of the ways of finding extra money that the author explains. What I found useful were the simple basics of 'how-to' and additional info at the end if I want to explore more. It's a good book to help spring-board you in your own areas of interest and accessibility.Worth the time and cost to read.

Not bad..not great.
I though the reviews for this book were lacking - either rave, over the top or terse and negative.First, the book is self-published, bare-bones, no illustrations or graphs, you can read the 90 odd pages in an hour or less. I've been scrapping and g-saling for most of my life so I was familiar with all but a couple of the ideas. If you are new to scrapping and finding 'treasure' in the trash and at garage sales you will find more info that is new and you can use. Again, Michael gave me a couple of new ideas but the book could be better. I'd like more specific examples of things to look for because at the least it would just make the book more interesting. Also the author says over and over how he sells such and such for "good money". He could be specific on if that is 2 bucks or 20 or 200. Many of his ideas seem to focus on items which generate very small income - circuit boards or electrical contacts, and battery covers. His info about saving copper pennies is off - 1986 is not the cut off for all copper/bronze cents. It was 1982. If the author were to collaborate with other scrappers in writing such a book it could be substantially improved. Finally a couple of illustrations, photos, tables would be nice. Not a bad book, an easy read, but could be better.

Opens your eyes to make you think differently
Really helped me realize I could make money just with the extra stuff I didn’t need or want or use anymore. This book made it pretty simple to fallow with the links provided.

Make money on Amazon by selling everyday items.
I read this as my wife and I prepared for a community-wide garage sale---oh, the irony!!!All in all, Almost Free Money was a good read. Side note: I actually thought Mr. Michael's other book, Passive Income For Life, was a more interesting read (you can read my review there too).Almost Free Money reinforces the popular saying: one man's junk is another man's treasure. If you're interested in making money online, this book can help you.The idea that your house (or community) is full of online treasures waiting to be found is not too surprising. But what to look for, what to do with it when you find it, and how to make some cash was a delightful surprise to me.Personal success shared by Mr. Michael, well laid out and another great voice/tonality. This is the second book I've read from Mr. Michael and the second book I will recommend. The 3 pillars of Almost Free Money: Recycle, Research and Resell. Buy it today!

A Good Solid Read
I have just re-read this book after - well a good while. I find the first section is full of good ideas for anyone considering this as an extra earner through to a full- time business but bear in mind that for many ideas need a car and plenty of storage. Not for you if you do not drive or live in a flat! There is one huge section on making money from scrap metals a percentage of which is covered in another of his publications. There are two great 'extra's' here for me and that is that he does address the issue of tax on your business which many authors ignore. I know authors are not tax advisors but sometimes a small reminder that a participant will need to ay tax is needed no matter where you live, and the other excellent part is the Appendix where there is inspiration for everyone as to just what it may be possible to earn money from.If you want to earn a few extra pounds this is a good starting point.

Too good a book to be less than £2.00
I must admit that when I bought the book I wasn't expectin the wealth of information that I found in this book. I have been pleasantly surprised. I have learnt that one can make money from almost anything. Magazine ads, coins, scrape metals, where to look for copper and gold and how to sell it. Whether you going to do this as a full time business or just looking for a little bit of extra income to buy presents this book will give you plenty ideas of how to get started. What I liked most was that you really don't need any capital at all to get this business going.A very detailed and comprehensive book that I will be recomending to friends!

Contemporary Ideas for Upcycling/Reuse
Found it quite American based as we do not have the same culture of 'Yard/Garage' sales in the UK. Enjoyed some of the tales of great finds and ideas to promote sales. May be slightly overtaken by local facebook sales now but still relevant information and ideas.
