The two three year old girls that I bought this book for enjoyed it very much. The parents who read the book to them also enjoyed the story.

It's great, just depends on how you read it!
It's a great book, with a good storyline. There are so many rhyming books out there, it's good for children to see something different. The pictures are interesting (sparkly) and it wasn't long before my daughter started stopping me to 'read' the next page 'Oh yes you will, yes you will...don't stop' etc before she could read. Now she can read herself, she enjoys it even more! I have to hide it some nights so we can give other books a chance! That says it all, really!

Lovely story
Bought this for my 3 year olds they loved it! Funny story and imaginative. As always with Julia Donaldson. Illustrations very lovely and colourful

Bit of a non story
Love Julia but this story wasn't the best. Children were excited for a new book but haven't wanted to read it again.Sharing a shell, singing mermaid etc all much better.
