This is perfect for holding my dog's 6lb bag of food, plus all of her treats. I wanted to find something that would seal incredibly well so the dog and pests can't smell what's inside! The lid screws on easily and makes a nice, tight seal. This fits perfectly on a shelf in our pantry as it's about as tall as a cereal container.

I have a Vault for my dog's food, and have been using it for many years. It has worked perfectly. I bought this for storing flour in my pantry. The dog food vault is the style with the slanted top, which is excellent for scooping out her food. This one is a bucket, with a handle, and is prefect for storing the various bags of flour I use. I bake bread regularly, and this holds a lot, so I can keep various kinds of flour all together, dry and safe from pests. The handle makes it easy to move and lift, and the screw-on lid is much easier than the typical snap-on lids other containers often have. This is a good product and at a good price. It will last for many, many years.

I was having an issue with a different container with ants sneaking into out cats food. This one seals perfectly, is easy to open, and seals up very well. I also like the handle which makes it easier when trying to feed 3 cats who act like they've never eaten in their life at feeding time.

My sister's giant 20lb cat will gnaw through bags (cat food, human food, or otherwise) and my kitten is starting to do the same. The older cat also can manage to open lids on containers that have a flip top, and we've been through several to try and stop him gorging/causing food to go stale. This bucket is great for safeguarding against that. There's no way he can gnaw through it and definitely can't unscrew the lid. It is a bit bigger/unwieldy than I might have liked, so a slightly smaller size might have been a nice option, but it does fit a whole 7 lb bag of cat food and keeps it out of reach/fresh, so I can't complain.

We bought this to store our cat's dry food so it doesn't go stale keeping it in just the bag. This bucket is sturdy, it seals well, and it's easy to open and close. We keep it inside so can't comment on how well it does keeping out bugs or rain, but I imagine it would work just fine based on the seal. I like how Gamma makes this in a round bucket option so I can store it in a corner of the room in a round basket to disguise it!My only qualms:• The product description says this 10lb bucket is 10 x 10 x 9.5 inches, but I think this is just the bucket itself. When you account for the lid it's actually 12 inches wide and about 11.5 inches tall. Important to know if you're planning on storing it in a specific place.• I wish they made a 12lb option because a lot of cat food brands come as 12lb bags. Luckily we use an auto-feeder so we can put some in there and the rest in the 10lb bucket.

You might be wondering about the size, like I was. We have two boxers. We got this size to bring to our cabin for 4+ days at a time. It fits much more than 30 overflowing cups. I put in 30 overflowing cups in, a plastic measuring cup, and a 1 gallon freezer bag filled with dog treats. That's more than enough for 2 boxers fed twice a day for our trips. It also fits in our space case on top of our SUV.We have had a larger version at home for maybe 12 years. It is still in perfect condition. It complete keeps ants and dogs out. Can't go wrong in my opinion.

Perfect container for pet's food. Locking lid stays on tight. Light weight bucket. Slight smell inside, let it sit out overnight to air out and next day plastic smell was gone. Great container.

After researching regular buckets, I settled in this pet food bucket, and it has worked wonderfully.The bucket is perfectly sized for my needs, and the plastic is very high grade; it seems it can put up with a lot of movement and abuse, which is important because I move the bucket daily and am not careful with it. This bucket will likely last a long time, making it cost effective.The lid screws on easily and you don't have to tighten it down very hard for it to seal. The rubber gasket seals easily and keeps the dust from the chalk inside, while keeping moisture and humidity from getting inside and causing issues with the chalk. Every time I open it, the chalk is dry and powdery; if you use this for pet food you can rest assured that the food will remain dry.I understand my use for this bucket differs from the normal pet food storage; however, the demands of the chalk and the environment I use it in does a great job of displaying the bucket's features and durability. I would have no issues trusting it to keep my pet food safe. In fact, I purchased a second one for my dry cat food.
