Q: Can you add this product dry to compost or do you have to soak in water ?

Yes you can. Don't forget to leave more room for when it swells. I usually mix in a couple of teaspoonful to a 14 inch basket or 1 teaspoonful per 1 litre pot. I leave an inch and half at the top, when it's wet it's holds a lot of water so the compost rises nearly to the top. Brilliant stuff, cuts down on watering loads. Best I've used. 40 years professional grower. Hope that helps.

Q: I am planning on using this product in some large garden tubs holding 80l of compost which will hold bushes, what is the life span of this product ?

I don"t know, but put in my large beds and under my grass in a very hot garden 5 years ago and it still working for me keeping them moist and green and the no droop for days so hope that helps x

Q: Does this product stay in your soil forever or does it eventually biodegrade?

It is biodegradable. You will have to replace it annually if used in planters.
