These are great little units, I’ve used two on my model railroad to add triggered sound effects to buildings. The audio decoder produces much clearer sound than other similar units I’ve used. They do have a larger footprint than some so you’ll need to take this into account depending on your scale or just mount it under the benchwork. Really the only negative thing is that they don’t come with plastic mounting spacers like most boards do but I made my own easily from a piece of drip irrigation line.

One of the configurations should be "play once when button is pressed, no matter how long button is pressed, only play once (not loop)" However, none of the dipswitch settings sets this up. Files will play in a loop as long as the button is pressed no matter what. It was worth a try, but will have to try a different card.

First unit had issues but replaced- I wish it had a housing and a larger memory…but seems to work well. Important note - very small memory so don’t plan on lots of long files (not even full 4minute song)
