Versatile, heavy duty, fabulous customer service
I thought I would never receive this after the postal service lost it, but the fabulous customer service staff shipped me a new one at no charge and a return address label to send it back if it eventually arrived. (It did and I did.) I bought this to make lefse and it works great making larger sheets than an electric griddle. A Sudanese friend uses it to make a traditional flatbread. It is very heavy metal, distributes heat well, and works fine over one burner on my gas rangetop. It comes pre-seasoned, so you don't have to go to a lot of trouble preparing it for its first use. If I was still a camper, I would likely take it with me to use cooking over a campfire since it would be perfect for that use.

Quality
I enjoy the pan on my 24 Komado joes grill. The only downside side I will the side lip would be a little bit higher. Other than that it’s great quality product. Made in always lasts too

Easy to use on a stove, grill and smoker…
Great griddle, nice size for several applications, most 15 inch domed tops work as a steamer / oven…well made….

A Carbon Steel Griddle - Built Like a Tank! But very big.
The good: I own a few different pans from Made In Cookware, and they've all been winners -- really well-made, long-lasting, and great performers (their stuff is all great to cook with). Made In products are also packaged really nicely, so they make nice gifts, too -- you'd think you were unboxing a new high-end Apple computer instead of just a pan. In general, Made In products are expensive, but they're also top-quality. This Carbon Steel Griddle is likewise very impressive -- it's built like tank, it's heavy, substantial, streamlined, and feels super-strong. If you were a knight in Medieval times, this griddle wold also make a great shield. It also heats up easily on both my indoor induction stove-top (I wasn't sure if it'd work there very well because it's way bigger than any of the individual heat-zones on my stove, but the stove didn't have any problem activating the induction heat when placed on the biggest of the zones); and it's a good fit for a full-sized outdoor grill. The not so good: I was originally planning on using this inside more than outside -- I don't often need a griddle when using a BBQ grill, but indoors on the stove top I thought this griddle would be really handy for making big ol' servings of pancakes, omelettes, sausage, bacon, crepes, burgers, steaks, etc. for the family... And, yeah, it can definitely do all that... But it's also kinda too big and unwieldy for regular indoor use, realistically, once the novelty wears off -- ultimately it's probably easier to just use 2-3 regular-sized frying pans and skillets on the stove top instead of hauling out a giant griddle that take up nearly the entire stove top and is too big to fit in the dishwasher or even the sink. Once it's on the stove, it's too big to move around much as well, so you won't be flipping any pancakes on it. Also, the handles heat up and aren't very comfortable -- the design is definitely intended for dropping on a round outdoor grill and then leaving it alone, and only touching the handles once cool or with oven mitts... So, I dunno, I might use it to fry up a family breakfast on the stove top every once in a while for special occasions, but it's too big to even fit in any of my kitchen cabinets... So I'll probably be keeping this inside our outdoor grill, and experimenting more to see if searing meat on this griddle is really preferable to cooking directly on the grill. Also, given how pricey this item is, I was a little disappointed that Made In didn't include a free little jar of carbon-steel oil seasoning. It conveniently arrives pre-seasoned, but the directions recommend seasoning it more before using and after washing (rubbing a thin layer of high-temp cooking oil on it and then cooking the pan, basically). Other high-end carbon-steel and iron cookware I've purchased sometimes come with some starter-kit items like this, but not this time. In short: This is an impressive griddle, but also a niche item that was probably more pan than can use on a regular basis.

The best pan I have used. Made In cookware is amazing, I have always heard good things and I still need to get one of their stainless steel pans but this pan is very versatile and cooks well and cleans easily.

We purchased this pan to cook on our outdoor fire pit so that we didn't have to use a grill at all times or have food slip through and be ruined. This griddle can cook nearly anything from burgers to pancakes out in your yard or on a campsite without fail. It's easy to clean. It's cast iron steel, which means that it's not overly heavy and can easily travel with you almost anywhere. This has been a great addition to our family planning of our menus because we know at any time we can just fire up the fire pit and we have a nice griddle to cook on and we don't have to be so concerned with grease going into fires and causing issues. I recommend this to any family who does have a spacious fire pit or even an induction range that they can turn on all their burners and then cook on the top of it. We've enjoyed this purchase immensely and we can see this lasting in our family for a very long time.

I was in need of a relatively large griddle as I make a few dishes where I need to finish some seared meat in a griddle but I never had one so I used to do it in a pan, which was very inefficient and created more mess. This griddle has done an amazing job at helping me transfer the meat directly from the grill to the griddle right beside. I seasoned the griddle by gently rubbing oil on top and putting it in the oven at high temp, at least 3 times to get a nice shiny coat. This griddle has a good size to it, and it being carbon steel is quite heavy and robust. It does take a bit of space in my kitchen but I am okay with that. The handles are well positioned and feel very stable. The griddle has this raised perimeter which helps hold the meat juice and grease better, giving your food a better taste. The heat is spread out very evenly and I didn't notice any cold/hot spots, which for me is very important for an even cooking. This griddle is definitely high quality and I recommend it very much if you are looking into one.

Overall, I'm pretty impressed with the carbon steel griddle - it's performance is as one would hope: it seems to cook evenly, makes easy work of searing off a piece of meat, and is easy to clean up. You do, however, need to be careful that you don't grab hot handles without mitts or at least several layers of towel! I haven't made that mistake yet, but I have reached and recoiled when my brain kicked itn. Where I find myself slightly conflicted is that the size makes it a bit of a challenge in terms of the space it needs for storage. Perhaps I need a bigger kitchen and pantry? Overall, though, it's a fine product... though definitely pricey.

This carbon steel griddle is very high quality and easy to handle, especially with the two ergonomically designed handles. It is also much lighter weight compared to the cast iron griddle that I have, so I'm now using this almost exclusively while relegating the cast iron to storage (mostly). For searing steaks and meat patties, this carbon steel griddle seems to work just as well as cast iron, although the cast iron is still slightly faster, probably because of the cast iron's higher heat retention capacity. However, I find the carbon steel to be much better at achieving even heat distribution, especially on the BBQ. I've also used it in the oven to bake pizzas, and seems to work well too, giving the bottom crust a nice toasted burn. With both the cast iron griddle and this carbon steel griddle, before use, I further seasoned each for 3 times in the oven using flaxseed oil. The resulting non-stick property is definitely better on this carbon steel surface, as some meats and eggs still got stuck occasionally with the cast iron griddle.
