From the moment it arrived, I've been thoroughly impressed by this spice set. It wasn't even a full day before a neatly-sealed box was sitting on my porch waiting for me. In fact, I was so surprised, I had no clue what was inside until I saw the "Amazon Prime" tape. "No way!" I exclaimed. I quickly opened it and was instantly emersed in the fresh, pleasant aroma of a rainbow of salts and spices. Sure enough, it was the spice set I just ordered less than 23 hours ago--WOW!From there, it only got better. Starting with first impressions, the quality of the set is immediately apparent. Every aspect of the set is well-thought out. There appears to be a spice or salt for almost any recipe and for accomodating a wide range of tastes. The ingredients are all natural and are of high quality--nothing artificial, e.g., fillers, food colorings. Even the design of the individual shakers is impressive, being both attractive and practical. Aside from labels on both the top and sides, there's a see-through window on top to allow you not only to see and be sure of what's inside, but also to check how much seasoning is left without opening the shaker. Perhaps the most interesting feature of each shaker is the powerful magnet under the base, strong enough to suspend a full shaker vertically, i.e., perpendicular to the floor. When placed on metal, these shakers stay put, providing more storage options and reducing the chance of a spill. Furthermore, using the shakers to access its delicious contents requires only a twist of the secure cap to the desired opening and then another twist to seal it back. I love this because there's no plastic flip-up cover over the openings, which tends to wear out and even break off over time. Lastly, selecting which spice or salt is made easier by images on the side of each shaker, which show foods with which the spice or salt goes well.This is all nice, however, but ultimately, how do the spices and salts taste? In short, DAMN GOOD! To say I am blown away would be an understatement. The flavor of each spice or salt is strong, distinct, and fresh, and most importantly, very, very delicious. Clearly, a great deal of creativity went into coming up with the combination of ingredients to produce the many novel and unique flavors in this set, which made familiar foods taste as though I was tasting them for the very first time. I found myself wanting to try them on everything, recreating this experience of discovery over and over again. The wide variety of flavors makes this a great set with which to experiment on and re-discover many different foods. Now, I look forward to preparing meals and experiencing familiar foods in a new way. In remembrance of the late Leonard Nimoy, this set will allow you to boldly take your tongue where it never has gone before!

Update: Still LOVE THE SPICES!! We use them often. Great for throwing stuff on the grill. The Greek one being most used and finished. We make awesome Greek platters with Greek seasoned poatoes, chicken and seafood paired with pita and tzatziki. Even the kid LOVES IT!NOTE: After super gluing the magnets to the containers all has been well. Fix this issue and it's truly the best seasoning package.---------------------First off LOVE THE SPICES !!. The containers however, have poorly glued magnets that separate and you wind up with dented up tins on the floor... I have been Crazy-glueing the magnets on as they fall...

On the pricier side, but worth it if you don't over season things. There have been times where I would have a slab of meat, and have no idea what to make. Looking through the spices help spark up some cravings.

I was expecting a high quality item and I am not sure where it went wrong but several of the magnets stuck on the board as I lifted the spices to look at them and 4 of the tins tops had dents in them three of them are workable but the third I can't even turn the top to access the spice so I have to take off the cover to access which is very disappointing. There are 4 more spices I do not have from the lineup and at this time I am afraid to buy it for further disappointment and I would check before giving out as a present before giving out. otherwise the spices are great and the quality of the rest are great but its like getting a new BMW and having one of the tires being the spare.. you're happy but disappointed it wasn't 100%

When I first bought these I gave them a good review. I'm sorry if anyone bought them based on that. Once you open the tin, and the bag inside containing the spices or salts, pouring them back in the tin, you might as well throw both the tin and spice out. If you don't use that particular tin daily, the salts or spices tend to draw humidity into the tin and it corrodes, making it nearly impossible to open the tin to get at whatever is inside. Then after you destroy the tin to get inside, the spice and/or salts are clumped with moisture, and I'd not be certain any of it is healthy to consume at that point. I guess there is a very good reason all the other spice companies use jars, or resealable bags, or even the tins they use are of a better design.So save your money and don't fall for the gimmick here. I wish I could say I enjoyed the salts and spices, but when you only get a chance or two to actually use one before having to throw it out, you are looking at like $5 per quarter teaspoon.

The spices are great but the glue connecting the magnets to the cans is not good at all. More than half the cans no longer have their magnets and are useless. Had to buy glue to fix them.

This is an incredible set of spices. Each one smells delicious. I love that I don't have to purchase and measure all of the components found in each type. Just add the pre-mixed spice to meat or tofu, and sear.This is a brilliant idea, and I already know the idea works. I have been cooking with Blue Apron for over a year, and I have come love getting all of the spice in one packet, pre-measured with all of the components. I am now getting ready to go off of Blue Apron, because I have learned to cook pretty much everything they offer. But I was going to miss those spices. That's why I got this set, because I still get that simplicity.LOVE IT!

I originally thought this was overpriced but i went from a bad cook to an ok & sometimes good cook so im happy with the purchase. It attaches to my refrigerator & looks organized in my small kitchen, i used the left over back plate as a dry erase magnet board so overall a good buy.
