They do the job if you don't walk on small stones
They arrived packed squashed together as if they were a pair of flannels, which didn't fill me with confidence. They did open out to be fine though, and they fit me fine as long as I wear them without socks (which I guess most people would for shoes like this). I wanted them for walking on my local shingle beach and walking in the sea, and was worried the soles wouldn't be thick enough to make it easy to walk on the shingle. Well they have more cushioning than I expected, so although not like normal shoes, they are just about ok for that. Also when walking in the sea, they obviously get wet and so do my feet, which is exactly what they're supposed to do, so no complaints there. The reason for 3 stars is that the soles are covered in holes. I know they need to be to drain water, but the holes are an ideal size to allow small stones to wedge themselves in. Obviously on a beach where I use them, this is a particular problem for me, but you get small stones everywhere so this maybe a problem for others too. The stones are tough to get out, and you can't leave them in while walking as they hurt on each step as they dig into your foot. Much smaller holes or a mesh on the bottom would be better for these. If you want them for a sandy beach or somewhere else that won't have lots of small stones, then I recommend them. They seem stronger than I thought they'd be, and haven't fallen apart on me yet. I'm not using them much though because of the stones issue.

Absolutely amazing.
I love wearing these even as general everyday footwear. I have size 12UK feet and weight around 18st. These are without doubt some of the most comfortable pair of shoes I have ever owned, even nicer than sketchers. The cushioning on the feet is absolutely amazing. Also on a nice bright day with a bit of wind, it feels extremely nice with the air blowing through the inside of the shoes, keeping your feet fresh all day. I now use these for the gym also as it avoid any excess sweating or keeping your feet enclosed, and are very comfortable whilst working out. I have purchased these in the blue and grey/black version and they all fit and feel the same.

Need to get used to them
Takes a while to get used to.Took me a while to get used to the back of the shoe. It looks like a trainer but the back is quite low and doesn't 'grip' the heel as much as trainers. The elastic laces push your foot backwards in the shoe and slightly over the rear of the sole.Compared to the 'standard' water shoe that has elastic around the heel it is a bit looser. Having said that due to the cushioned sole and all the vents it is a lot cooler than the standard shoe.I will test how they handle water, walking in when wet and then drying when I go on holiday.

Ideal for rocky snorkelling
I bought these to wear whilst snorkelling on holiday, and needed something to get across rocky areas, they were ideal for this and I hardly noticed them whilst swimming, I would recommend a half size down as the neoprene rear gets a bit baggy when wet, not enough for them to come off but it’s a bit disconcerting at first, I just tightened them up a bit. They dry quick and the inner sole comes out which assists with washing sand and salt out of them. Not something for walking about in but ideal for use when swimming or snorkelling.

Essential comfy beach footwear
Taken on 2 week Thailand holiday and used on 4 islands hopping trip, Similan island trip, snorkeling. Absolutely perfect and comfortable to wear. The fit was good and as I'd expect for my shoe size. Walking along the beach sand did come up into the drain holes of the footwear. Not a problem at the time but meant some sand made its way back with me. Removed the inner sole once at the hotel and was able to remove most of the sand with the shower head. Glad I had them.

Bad insoles
They are ok, but the insoles in both shoes come loose. They move to the back of the shoe as you walk. It’s very irritating. I’ve tried to glue them, it didn’t work. Comes loose again when they’re wet.

No strength to heel so foot slips out
My feet are size 11.5 UK. I bought this shoe in size 11 but it was a little too small so is wearing out at the toes. I then bought supposedly the same version in size 12 but unlike the size 11 version there is no extra stiffening in the fabric behind the heel so whenever I tried to walk up even a gentle slope, my heel rode up out of the shoe and the 'shoes' turned into flip-flops. Had to return them.I wasn't expecting hiking shoes - that's not for what this type of shoe is designed - but I do expect at least a consistency of design and a little more strength where it matters

Inner sole does not stay in place
I am very happy with one of the shoes. The other one is very annoying - the inner sole keeps slipping (see photo). The shoes are designed for the inner sole to be removed for drying, therefore I would prefer not to glue it to the base - but without glue - they are unwearable.
