Best value, high quality headphones going in a similar price range (in my experience so far).
Quality headphones, like other HiFi equipment, are always going to be a highly personal, subjective thing. I own a few pairs of headphones. Each of them have their various pros. However, comparing these Sony MDR-7506's to other highly-regarded, similarly-priced headphones, for example, the excellent Sennheiser HD560S, the Philips Fidelio X2HR & the Sennheiser HD598, these Sony MDR-7506's are probably the ones that I spend the most time listening to music. I've owned them since February, 2024. Though in fairness, it's a very close thing with the equally superb Sennheiser HD560S. Both excel for overall quality in their price range. I use them with Cambridge Audio HiFi. Aside from the Sony's relatively lighter weight & added comfort for longer listening sessions, all without getting too warm, what I love most about them is their excellent clarity, brightness & vibrancy. I'd swear that I can hear more higher frequency music & detail on certain songs, more clearly, with the Sony MDR-7506's than with my other quality headphones. Though once again, it's a close thing with the brilliant Sennheiser HD560S's. The latter offer better overall separation & depth, but their RRP is also significantly higher. An unqualified 5 Stars for the Sony MDR-7506's. They excel with their excellent clarity & vibrancy among other similarly-priced, quality headphones. Outstanding value!

Sony MDR-MV1 Headphones.
Excellent headphones, much better sounding than the Audio technica R70X's.That lasted seven weeks! Very neutral sounding With a controlled very deep bass. And with natural sounding midrange, and high's. I can see why they are labelled professional, with the sound quality they give. As some other reviewers have stated, these headphones are the choice of professionals recording studios. And I can well believe it, with the sound quality they give. I use my pair, to listen to music, with my old analogue Technics HiFi. They work really well, with this format, and the sound quality is sublime. They are very sensitive, and pick up errors in music recordings, that you won't hear through speakers. It can be disconcerting at first, until to recognise the errors. For example, on Al Stewarts Year of the cat album. On the first track " Lord Granville. " there is a slight knocking sound in the recording. When you hear it.It sounds like someone knocking on the door! It bought me out . I should add, they are very comfortable with the fabric ear pads.I can wear them for four hours, at a time. With no discomfort. Some reviewers, have said these headphones last for over a decade. I would be happy at that . They also sound good at higher volumes, without sounding strained or distorted. I would say, that that you get what you pay for.And these headphones are no exception! I'm very happy with mine. And I would replace them, with the same again. When they are worn out.Yes, they are easily worth the money. I highly recommend them for music use.

Very comfortable headphones
The Sony MDR-7506 headphones are excellent quality; the earpads are soft and very comfortable to wear for long periods ; a good fit for a slim head as another brand ordered were too wide. The sound quality is very crisp and clean and they block external noise a little better too than the cheaper pair.

good overall but sounds a little flat
long story short: they are great for the price, but the mids are scooped In my hands it feels to be of good quality, it feels rigid and robust It's pretty comfortable, though the muffs are a little small for my ears which after a while can hurt, but I just have to take them off and rub my ears and then I can wear them for another hour the cable is a long coil which means you can get a-lot of length out of it while not tripping over the wire though I believe it might be what's introducing the static noises that are present when no audio is playing I really can hear a-lot of detail in the songs I've listened to so far (restless gypsy-WASP, break down the wall-stone fury, valhalla-crimson glory and dream dancer-crimson glory) and the bass is very clear and present, the treble is ok, it's pretty clear but the mids are a bit weak, and the mid range is very important, the mid range hosts vocals, guitar solos etc this review is in comparison to my previous headphones, roland rh5

Fantastic Sound
I actually love these. I started to move away from the convenience of Bluetooth and therefore wireless headphones / earbuds last year. I still love them for what they are, but I no longer use them if I'm at home just relaxing. I wanted to move to something that actually sounded GOOD. I recently bought the Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro X and while they were indeed excellent, I found them to be just a little too big and bulky and lacking in bass ability. Enter these. They're much more manageable, being about 30% lighter, they have a warmer sound, which I wanted, sound fantastic and overall just do exactly what I wanted them to do. They're not completely neutral, so if/when I am creating music I do need to keep that in mind. But they're fantastic for listening to music, if it's coming from a high quality source. Also on the DT 770 Pro X, the provided cable was far too long. This comes with a longer one and a shorted on which the others did not.

These headphones don't just deliver sound; they serve up an entire acoustic experience. From the moment I slipped these headphones on, I felt like I'd entered the VIP section of a sound studio. The ear cups are so cushy, it's like they were filled with marshmallows (I wish!), and they create an audio cocoon so immersive that I'm now convinced I can hear sound frequencies only dogs were privy to before. Say goodbye to noisy neighbors or a chaotic office; these headphones are your invisible "Do Not Disturb" sign. The audio quality? Let's just say it's as crisp and clean as a freshly pressed tuxedo. Every note, every whisper, every bass thump – it's like I'm front row at a private concert. And the best part? Comfy and great for recording and mixing
These are excellent for a few purposes. I only received these today but have checked old mixes I did before having good monitors and they showed up a problem I knew was there immediately. I then recorded some acoustic piano on my MPC and I could hear everything clearly, including setting up the mics and phase. With this, being closed back, there was no bleed from the metronome into the piano mics. These cans have a purpose. If you are music listening enthusiast these may not be for you. There are a lot of headphones which sound prettier at this price. If you are producing/recording these are honest and comfortable. Like wearable Yamaha NS10 monitors from the days of old.
