Straight And True
I bought this item without reading the reviews. After reading that not all the sides are straight, and feeling that I could not depend on it to give me reliable results, I went ahead and ordered the StewMac version (which costs about 4x as much). When I got the new StewMac one, I used it to check the EXTAR version and I found ALL four sides to be straight and true. I just thought I would share that in fairness if anyone had doubts. I will keep it as a back up.

Not all edges are true.
Simple device, or at least you would think. I had assumed all edges were straight and true. When I used one of the edges to check frets down lower on the neck I thought I had serious problems. I was using upper most edge to the right as viewed in the picture. I then realized the gauge edge was not close to straight. I’m a Tool Maker so I may straighten it with a flat file.

Not the best quality
Only three sides were flat. I had to machine one side to fix it

Does the job well. Very solid.

Ony 2 sides are straight
The 2 sides without the holes are perfect but the sides with holes are slightly warped making it hard to use on many areas of the neck
