Our son has a large beam that goes through the entire expanse of his garage so I thought this would be handy for our projects. I have to say that for our purposes this clamp works really well. I was a bit concerned with ordering something basically sight unseen but so far, the clamp has done its job. We haven't (and probably won't) tested it up to the high end of its weight limits but for our smaller projects it doesn't show any troubling signs of deforming or outright bending. All you have to do is open it wide enough to fit over the beam and then turn the metal screw tightener and it cinches down and into place. Keep in mind that its best to apply pressure in a straight downward manner and try to avoid pulling to the side because it's not really designed for that. As long as you use it right and have the place for it, I think that this is a good option for someone looking for a way to utilize an iron beam for hanging or lifting things.

My husband needed a beam clamp for moving I beams around with his mini excavator. This is nice because you can center and clamp it fast. It makes moving beams a lot nicer. Well worth the money.
