For the most part, any relay can be used to energize any component, IF the pin configuration and the amperage rating match (and of course, the physical location of the relay). Also bear in mind whether you need an NO (normally open) or an NC (normally closed) relay for your fuel pump circuit. Most OEM applications use a NO relay where the ECM closes the circuit to energize the fuel pump. Remember, all the relay does is energize (switch on and off) a high amperage accessory using a low amperage switching circuit.Electricity doesn't care where it's going, it merely needs to be controlled & directed (and respected).

It looks to me like the 4 pins are located (turned) 90 degrees from where they should be for the correct relay listed for the equinox,so it would not fit. But i'm not sure. I would order the correct relay listed, they are fairly cheap.
