My new favorite build!!
What an amazing piece of work! This was my 2nd MiniCity build, (my 11th nook completed) and compared to the first MiniCity kit I did (Pianist with Nightingale-very challenging, very delicate) this one was a complete joy to do! It has greater than 700 pieces, which made it very detailed, and had a 5 star difficulty rating, which I think has more to do with the time commitment on this piece, rather than it being overly delicate & complicated. Most of the components were snap together, which I personally prefer, and were ‘snug’, so you still had to be careful, and not be too aggressive and break the pieces, but my kit pieces fit perfectly with the right amount of pressure! It’s a sturdy piece of work, and I just can’t get over all the detail within it! I love the side ‘windows’ so that you can see what is going on in the back!I also like that this kit comes with glue- I am a fan of the B7000 glue, the fine tip edge comes in VERY handy for the very small pieces that require gluing. I also use my own favorite mixed media craft glue for the bigger pieces. This kit also came with a tiny mallet, which is very cute, but I was too nervous to hammer too many of my pieces together- I did use it for a couple hard to snap together pieces, but very sparingly- still, a nice (cute) touch for this kit. I also think the dust cover is a must (which this kit has) to keep your work clean & dust free.I highly recommend this nook, you don’t have to be a fan of Hemingway to appreciate the intricate detail in this piece! But the tribute to him is very cool! It was not as hard as I was anticipating, but I wouldn’t start with this one as a beginner. I think this one is a must do for fans of book nooks/miniatures!!

A Beautifully Made Book Nook Kit!
I have built over 30 book nook kits in the last year and this kit was one of my most enjoyable. The design and artwork are great. Parts production, printing and ease of assembly are first rate. Most parts are designed to fit together with expandable tabs and few require any glue at all. Parts include beautifully printed gold wood, plus paper, cardboard, plastic and plexiglass. It even includes a tiny working stamp for the emperor’s desk. All in all a real masterpiece and puts many other kits to shame.

A wonderful kit!
First, I am an experienced miniature crafter. I have done over 20 mini room boxes and book nooks. This is at the very top of my list of wonderful kits. I know what to look for, and this kit has it all. Directions that are clear to help you with every step. Wiring that is pre-assembled with a touch sensor. I do not like the motion sensor, and I hate stripping little wires on some kits I have done. There is no cutting of small paper parts, they are pre-cut and adhesive backed, so no gluing. The boards are detailed, the build is amazing and wonderful. It is dust protected. No, it does not have an odor as some have described. Minicity has become a brand I can really trust for quality. This is the second minicity kit I have purchased and absolutely loved them both. I will get them all eventually. If you have experience with crafting miniatures, and you are looking for a challenge that is very rewarding, this is a kit you will enjoy. By the way, B-7000 is my glue of choice and it is supplied along with a very useful little hammer! I cannot understand the negative reviews and hope that minicity will continue to make more of these type of kits.

Very detailed
This is a beautiful, very detailed set! So many little details that make it so neat to sit and look at, and it was not hard to put together. Love it!

Loved this kit, so much detail!
This was a really fun build. There are so many beautiful details! Instructions were pretty easy to follow, but there is a lot to assemble. Can't wait to try another kit! Highly recommend!

Highly Disappointed Assembly
I have assembled 10+ book nooks. This is by far my least favorite. Instructions were wrong in numerous pages (despite the “corrections” that came along with the booklet); almost 50% of the pieces were mismatched when it came to fitting pieces together; faulty wiring on the light pack (specifically the light strips); and the metal rod was by far too short to properly align the staircase from the floor to the ceiling. I’m at a point where I’m going to have to throw out the product because of numerous broken pieces from attempting to assemble. Very disappointed.

Enjoyed immensely!
Loved putting this together! Super high quality materials and awesome directions! Came with glue and tweezers too! Would definitely recommend! Took me 15-20 hours to complete!

It's okay
This is my third book nook, and I was really excited to receive this, as it was one of the larger ones. As hoped, it did take me longer than the others, which was mostly due to number of parts and not greater difficulty than the others. The instructions were pretty good (the instruction booklet itself was the nicest I have seen thus far). A few spots I did feel the order of instructions could have been rearranged, but I was able to make everything work. There are a lot of books to wrap, but that's to be expected for a library themed nook! They do include the necessary tools (still trying to figure out why there's a mallet though), which was much appreciated.A few things, however, would make me hesitant to recommend this one in particular, regardless of skill level. The number one issue being the notable gaps in between objects, despite significant efforts to make sure they align as well as possible. You can see this in the bookshelf on the lower level. I also do not like that the back wire to the globe was still visible since it runs along the floor and is black and yellow. It's hard to see in the picture but is noticeable in person.Overall, it's okay. I think the image looked cooler than the final product, and the quality was of parts were lower than the other nooks I've built. As such, I wish I had purchased one of the other nooks I had been considering instead of this one.
