AppleThunderbolt 3 (USB-C) to Thunderbolt 2 Adapter

Great buy! Works well. As designed. As expected.

This $50 Apple Thunderbolt 3 USB-C to Thunderbolt 2 adapter is one of two adapters required to connect a Firewire device (such as my older G-Drive mini 320 GB and 500 GB external drives) to a Thunderbolt 3 USB-C port on my 2023 Apple Mac Mini M2 computer. The other adapter is a Firewire 800 to Thunderbolt 2 adapter, which can be found on eBay for around $130. Though relatively expensive, these adapters enable one to make use of perfectly good devices otherwise destined for recycling (at best).

This little device made a $1000 paperweight into a beautiful external display for my MacBook Pro M1 2020. It is the answer to a prayer. I also used this in combination with a MagSafe adapter to convert the power from my 27" Display to power my MBP. It was so much more of an effective system than having to string cables everywhere. This adapter is exactly what I needed and works fantastic without hiccups.

Pricey, but works great and is cheaper than buying a new monitor.

I could not get my Lightning Bolt 2 Monitor to work with any computer except my old Macbook Pro that has the older lightning port. I tried a generic adaptor to connect to my new M4 Mac Mini but that did not work. After reading other reviews I spent the $50 on this ridiculously overpriced adaptor and it worked! I will get another 10 years out of this beautiful monitor....so I guess it's worth the $50.

Did it's job!!

I needed this Thunderbolt 3 to 2 adapter for the Thunderbolt connection from my Mac to my Audio Interface. Apple products are top quality and therefore I would have no hestitation recommending the purchase of this Apple Adapter to anyone who needs this as part of their connection chain.

Had one last for about a year before it failed to connect to my mac to a Studio One Quantum interface. Bought a second that wouldn’t connect at all. Returned it for replacement, and that one (the third one) connects about 50% of the time.
