I'm convinced that HP has added some kind of voodoo magic to their power bricks
I'm serious. The power supply for my Spectre will only work if I've unplugged and replugged everything in the proper sequence. Out using the laptop, bring it back & plug it in. Right?Oh, no no no, my friend, that power supply that came from the factory must have taken a stray shot from an excited yokai curse as it was coming out of the factory because it is not behaving even remotely like a dependable piece of equipment that I need to use.And that brings us to here.A dependable, working power supply that will work after I unplug the laptop for a few minutes then plug it back in. Hallelujah!Seriously, this a great power supply. Does the job for a fair price. Can't do much better than that.

Replacement for lost power supply.
My wife some how managed to lose the power supply for her HP laptop. After some research to verify wattage and model number, we ordered this. Turns out it has the same 7.4mm connector and 65 watt rating as the factory power supply, which is no longer available. Plugged it in, powered it up and the problem was solved. Had it for a couple of months now with no problems.

Potentially dangerous!
I have an HP Pavilion Gaming 15, the laptop this is supposed to work with, but when I plug in this charger it severely throttles my CPU. When unplugged, it operates at around 2.2GHz. When plugged in with a working charger it turbos to 3.2Ghz, but when I plug in this charger it drops to 0.4GHz and the laptop becomes unresponsive and unusable. It does technically charge the laptop, but it's a gaming laptop, so it needs to operate while plugged in, which isn't possible with this charger. Every input takes a few seconds to register and it constantly freezes. Moreover, I'm worried why the CPU laptop is throttling in the first place. I assume it is trying to protect itself from a bad power source, similar to thermal throttling, so this might be unsafe to use.Either way it's $30 down the drain. It's frustrating since HP doesn't sell official replacements, so we're stuck with sketchy chargers like this.

Happy wife happy life.
This was the first go-to item when the computer would not charge anymore. It ended up being both the charger and the battery that was replaced. It's a ten year old computer but a program my wife enjoys using will not work on a newer machine. So we keep it going. Glad this worked.

Good price and worked great for us.
Exactly what was needed for an older generation computer for our grandson to use. New power supply and new battery. All he needs for a while--maybe for a long time. Inexpensive and much less cost than buying a new computer that wouldn't do much more.

Caught fire with regular use.
Used only lightly, here and there for a few months as this is a backup laptop. It is the proper one listed for my laptop. Was always stored in the computer case, warm and dry in the house. Yet when I took it out to use for the holiday season/to travel with this laptop and upon first use, the charger began to burn (regular windows running on the computer with a document and light surfing, no demand on computer at all beyond the norm) and there was smoke, smoldering, and much melted plastic. A definite do not buy.
