Outer Hebrides Guide Book (3rd edition, 2nd revision) Paperback – 1 Jun. 2017

Great book if doing the outer Isles. The book has every sight you could think of visiting and includes not only the main ,easily accessible islands but the outliers as well. The book has good historical info and gives grid references so you can actually find some of the more obscure locations. It's worth noting that the book focuses on the sights so don't expect the where to stay/where to eat info you tend to get other books. However as it's so easy to find that stuff online.

I found the information very jumbled. Attractions are described on one page but the map with their location is on another page. Or attractions are described by their English name but when they a placed on a map their names are in Gaelic. Sometimes the former is not easily recognised by the latter. We were touring by car and this book might be more useful to walkers. There are lots of walks mentioned complete with OS references. Not a lot of use to our sat nav as the postcodes had to be looked up separately on line.

Excellent book packed with information and advice on where to go and what to see. We are planning a trip and this book has been a great help. The print is a little small, but it is clear to read. It also gives you background information on the history, geology, environment etc, so it is educational too.

A very useful and complete guide to discover the Western Isles, with a lot of infos and maps about each island of this enchanting archipelago. Not focused on hotels or restaurants, but on history, people, nature, places to visit. Unmissable!

The Outer Hebrides book is fantastic! So was The Orkney book, but it was The Orkney book that had the terrible binding. The very first time I opened it, the binding came apart, leaving chunks of the book completely falling out :(

I visit Outer Hebrides most years. Ideal to keep as a reference. Could add a few different things to enhance the experience.
