You know scents are so personal to people that you never know when you order something online before smelling it in person. So I ordered this candle to review with a little bit of reserve, despite how pretty it is! Visually appealing, for sure! It's got a great box and glass decorated with the brand's logo in fancy old time font. I love old ephemera and antiques, so looks-wise this baby was right up my alley!I was a little disturbed by how amazon chose to package it, in a bubble mailer, but thank goodness it arrived intact, although the box was a *little* beat up. These really should be shipped in boxes with bubble wrap, not bubble envelopes! But that is Amazon's problem, not PennChemists'.Now on to the scent. Do I like it? I LOVE it. It's exactly what I go for in a candle or perfume. I really love scents that have a musk, tobacco, cashmere, amber, or citrus peel scent. This fits right into that category, although I'm not seeing scents like tobacco and amber listed as ingredients, Penn Chemists lists scents like Magnolia blossom, sandalwood, and heliotrope. Okay...but close enough. Am I making scents? (See what I did there?)I think if you're like me, and tend to like really warm, cozy scents LIKE cashmere and amber and tobacco, then I think this candle will be a hit with you too, even though it's not those scents exactly. I'm just trying to give you an idea of what TYPE of scent to expect. I also asked my mom to smell it to see if she liked it, my mom is a super fussy scent person--as she makes her own soaps and practically deserves a doctorate when it comes to essential oils, fragrances, etc.--and she really liked it too. There is a sweetness to it, but nothing overly done like all those awful sugar cupcake scented stuff that is somehow so popular lately. This candle, it's grown up, see? It's very cozy, great for upcoming fall months, and it burns well.I'm also impressed that it's made with a soy & beeswax blend. Making these less toxic than many cheap candles you can buy. The printing and packaging are just beautiful, and I think this would make an excellent gift.

I'd almost put this in the category of a passion time candle, with this wilder scent. Yes, I think the bit of jazz to describe this is valid. It burns very clean and the candle so far is very well made as far as the wick burning goes. But, oh, this is a great scent if you don't mind something strong.

I am getting dark cherry and sandalwood from this, and a hint of citrus peel from the pomelo. I really like it and it is an addictive, grownup yet fruity scent that has grown on me a lot.The candle seems to burn clean and true, with the wick centered well and seemingly a long burn time as far as I can tell after 6 hours of use. The throw on the new candle has fragranced my whole office.I'd definitely buy from this line again, and hope they will offer a sampler set of tiny candles so we can test the scents before investing in a big candle.

The throw is pretty strong and I love the packaging. The scent smells quite strongly of sandalwood or some other woody/musky type of combination rather than pomelo but I still like it.

I really enjoyed using this candle as the fragrance was wonderful. I couldn't identfy just what ingredients were used, but the overall effect was quite pleasing.
