Understanding the FIDIC Red Book Hardcover – 10 Jan. 2012

There is a definite need for a good book about the 1999 FIDIC contracts but this is not it. It reads as though it has been rushed off without much thought. There is very little insight and a lot of space filling which casts no light on the subject. Add to that a lot of typos in important places (even the contract clauses are not all correctly copied!) and as you read it you have less and less faith in it. Some of the advice is just plain wrong, other is patronising or superficial. It is very hard to sift out the bad from the good unless you know the topic quite well to begin with - and that's not why you buy a book like this.
