Good for plants that need a lot of water
You need a tall, fat container to hold the stick above the bonsai so the end will drip down onto the soil. For the two weeks, the wicking material drips faster and you will go through the water faster. I used limeade containers or 1.5 L bottles of soda and needed to daisy chain them together, meaning one dripped on the plant, but I needed another straw to re-fill that container from a second container. It was the only way I could have enough water for two weeks. You cannot control the drip rate, so I was worried about the water eventually overflowing my bonsai planter tray. I ended up putting it in the bathtub so excess water could drain out the bottom. Even then, the drip rate caused the soil to be constantly wet and many of my bonsai leaves were brown when I got back. It survived.I also used the sticks for my peace lily plants that need a lot of water.
