Perfect book for planning and bringing with you!
I've been planning my trip for Tokyo next year for weeks now, but found that I spent way too much time trying to find reliable tips from sources that knew Tokyo inside and out. This book which is curated by creatives is great at giving you tips in all sorts of categories (architecture, shopping, food & restaurants, hotels etc). It's easy to understand, graphically simple to find exactly what you're looking for! I especially liked the first few pages which gives you basic information such as public transport links, useful websites, apps and other very useful tips!I thought the book would be a regular sized book, but to my relief it was small and portable making it perfect for bringing with you when you're out exploring Tokyo!

It's ok, depends on what you are looking for in Japan
The book is good if you like art/history, etc. It really depends on your tastes. Too bad there are no directions to any place listed in the book so you'll have to do more research before going.

Interesting, But Supplementary
This led us to a few very interesting and surprising places that we would not otherwise have found. It is, however, a very partial view, and the lack of clear directions is a negative.

The first 30% of the book I found to be too touristy. It suggesting going to a lot of museums, with less unique Japanese experiences than I had hoped it out. The last 70% of the book however is pretty exciting. Overall I expected a little more - off the beaten path - recommendations.

Not my taste, but not bad
I bought it for my first trip in Japan. Had a read through it and wasn't convinced to visit the things mentioned in there. Have to admit it does leave out the usual stuff (Meiji Shrine, Harajuku Cat street etc) which is refreshing if you are looking for something a little more different, but shame that the venues/shops etc mentioned in there aren't too interesting. It is aimed at someone who's a bit of a hipster (excuse my description, but that's the best description I could give) and has a high budget. It wasn't what I was looking for, but it is not bad either. It is quite small and handy, so easy to travel with. Good descriptions and plenty of pictures.
