Product arrived without the enamel chipping off, assuming this has been a common delivery complaint. The casserole/braiser is justifiably heavyweight for the kind of wear and tear it needs to take (10-12 kg with lid on). The pan needs no pre-seasoning, but slowly heating up a dash of oil at 140 degrees Celsius and reducing heat to 100-120 degrees Celsius during cooking would be ideal. Keep the lid on when reducing heat to get the best results. With the lid on, the pan does a great job even at 80 degrees Celsius, sealing in the flavours of the food, particularly meat, incredibly well. When it comes to choosing between a burnt casserole bottom and cleaning-up headaches after a blockbuster meal, you might prefer working with lesser heat and avoid the pain of scraping of residues from the pan bottom. Patience is the key while using an enamelled cast iron Dutch oven for braising — a task which it executes astoundingly well. And, the results are as good as that of a Le Creuset or Staub pan, which cost four times as much as the Lodge enamelled cast iron casserole. Again, remember that food runs the risk of burning and forming scar residue on the pan bottom at temperatures exceeding 200 degrees Celsius. The cast iron retains heat incredibly well when transitioning to lower heat levels, so exceeding 200 degrees while cooking is not required in any scenario. That makes the Lodge casserole a great energy saver as well. The vessel is incredibly easy to clean if treated right. Use baking soda and hot water to clean stubborn dirt, if any. I use Frosch baking soda spray and a sponge-based scrubber, which yields equally good results.

Great looking pan, but performance………
The images will tell everything, I started cooking with this pan to make a gravy with chicken, but all the spices and masala got stuck at the bottom of the pan, so had to just fry the chicken, I will not suggest for anyone to buy this one, because even after cooking with sufficient oil and with bare minimum heat, this was the result, I now think that stainless steel triply pans are far better and cost wise also beneficial, never thought that LODGE PAN would be like this, cannot use for cooking at all, only for boiling veggies, etc., this pan can be used

MRP of Rs 3300 inclusive of all taxes
This is an excellent product but I am afraid buying it was a huge rip off as the packaging of this product showed its original price to be Rs 3300 instead of Rs 7000 or anything more. I am sorry to say I am very disappointed with this purchase and would like the balance amount refunded as soon as possible.

Great pan but….
I totally love all my Lodge pans. But I have this braiser same in red. It’s the only Lodge pan I’ve had an issue with. The oil goes to the edges of the pan! One other reviewer posted pics of a burnt pan. That should never happen the degree of it is partly bcuz a certain care in cooking is required with these pans. But my experience is that it’s also due to the oil flowing away from center. I did have sticking bcuz of this. In the end I had to return it

Lodge is a US company, but these Dutch ovens are made in China and are excellent. This Lodge has superior wear and enameling than my Chasseur, made in France. The Chasseur does get used more, as the Lodge's low, wide size is less versatile, but there in not a mark on the Lodge enamel, it is noticeably thicker and will wear better. The Chasseur is already very worn and chipped on the rims. It'll still work for many years, but at the cost, it should be better.

I have the Lodge 3.6 quart cast iron enamel casserole pan, and I love it. I also have Lodge dutch ovens in 3 quart, 4.5 quart, 6 quart and 7.5 quart. I have had them all for about six months and I use them all the time. Lodge never claimed that these cast iron enamel coated products are made in America, their cast iron skillets and such are made in America, and I guess if where something is made is what determines whether you like an item, you will most likely not like this casserole pan. I am not sure what some of the reviewers are doing with the casserole pan, or why they have peeled and cracked really bad. I use my casserole pan all of the time. I take care of them, I don't put them in the dishwasher, which is what causes the enamel to crack, I store them carefully, though I guess not too carefully as they are stacked together, and I don't wash them when they are still hot, but I don't let the food sit in them for extended periods either. I do not use this pan as an everyday skillet either, and I don’t believe it was meant for that either, that is what their skillets are for. I heat them up prior to putting food in them to cook, though I do use high temperatures at times. I put them in the oven almost every time I use them after starting on the stove. This casserole pan has held up wonderfully and make the most wonderful meals for me and my family. I love it, and it is not super expensive. Seeing as I have five items from Lodge, if there was really something wrong with the enamel coated products, I would assume I would have experienced something by now with at least one of the ovens or casserole pan, and I have not. Don't put them in the dishwasher!! They will not hold up. These are truly wonderful tools for cooking. I make the best pot roasts, short ribs, chicken coq au vin, and more with them. The 3.6 casserole is perfect for chicken coq au vin, and one pot chicken and rice, and dishes like those. I absolutely love that pan and I use it frequently. I make enough food for four people comfortably, five or six depending on portions. It can fit about 8 chicken thighs with skin and 1 pound baby potatoes or a cup of rice. I will detail the other items that I have below, just as an FYI. I have made pot roast and beef stew in the 3 quart dutch oven, and it has come out so good, so don't pay attention to the people that say you can't do so with the smaller ovens. You 100% can. I make my elder parents food in the 3 quart all the time, and it the makes perfect amount for them to have a couple of dinners. The 3 quart is also great for baked ziti dishes, bread, and the like. This dutch oven is perfect for a single person to make magnificent meals in. The 4.5 quart dutch oven is also perfect for making pot roasts, stews, and such for a couple of people. It has a little more room than the 3 quart, making it perfect for two people. The 6 quart dutch oven is perfect for making food for my husband and I that we can eat for a few days. It is also great for making food when we have company over. This oven would be perfect for a family of four, though you could also make enough for six without leftovers. The 7.5 quart dutch oven is perfect for a large family. I use this when we are eating with my brother and his children, or we are having several couples over and want left overs. My husband loves leftovers. I hope this helps. The only time I have ever written a review this long or detailed is for the Lodge enamel coated items. I really love these products and find them extremely useful. This casserole pan is a wonderful addition to my kitchen.

We are big believers in cast iron pans and decided to try this Lodge pan (we have a Lodge Dutch Oven and love it). This pan is great in a few ways. My girlfriend loves it for the cooking properties and even heat distribution, easily goes from the stove top to the oven. I love it because it cleans up so easily. We have seared meat, fried, cooked fish, pork, chicken they all cleaned up in seconds. It is cast iron, so if you don't dry it properly the exposed area's will rust and fast - we dry it and throw it back on the burner, on high for a minute to get any water we missed. It is quite heavy, but that is what makes it good. 100% recommend
