My Quest for the Yeti Paperback – 1 January 2001

This is really a great book. Written by a seasoned mountaineer and written from an objective view point. The author was neither inclined to popular yeti myths nor he had the skeptic mentality that everything was false or fabricated. He took time and painfully checked and cross checked all the evidences present and tried to find the truth behind the myth. This book is an account of that great journey. A must read for all the scientific minded people and also the adventure lovers.

If you love adventure and suspense with combination of research , go ahead

Was longing for this book since long but didn't turn up to mark. MESSNER could have made it more non fictional...

A good read

A good read for those who love mountains and adventure..

Overall a rather disappointing book. Messner starts out with what he believes to be a Yeti encounter and ends with the conclusion that they are actually little more than bears. Who am I to challenge this but it does make for a tame end. A book full of contradictions and unanswered questions. There are some interesting passages and a great deal of in-depth knowledge with regard to Tibet, it's history and people who Messner obviously has a great respect for, but as regards the main subject it is somewhat lacking.
