Really actionable points that you can put in place right away.
this was a really well written book on stock marketing. I've never invested before, so Brown shared a lot of really valuable information. I think he did a good job explaining all the different aspect of investing and the lingo. I have always thought that doing any type of investing would be really confusing. Brown talks about the ways to invest smaller amounts of money and to play it safe. It's really important to figure out ways to make your money go further. I thinking investing in stocks is a great way to do it. You don't have to have a lot of money to do it either. I learned a lot reading this book and feel like I can take what I learned and get started on making smaller investments.

I think we have different definitions of mastering.
You can’t call a book mastering stocks and then only give 101 advice on everything. I’ve been trading for over 5 years and constantly read to learn new insights. This book is basic, and is not worthwhile to anyone who has over a year experience in technicals. Beyond that, it’s one of the only long (over 50 pages) technical side books I’ve ever read that includes no pictures. This type of training needs pictures, you need examples to explain clearly what your looking at in technical analysis.Fist 50 pages or so on fundamental side weren’t bad so I gave it a star for that, but past that, there were no pictures, no mastery, and it just wasn’t anything unique, investopedia could have told me everything for free.I’ll be giving this one away to the next person that asks how to get started, but wouldn’t recommend to the experienced trader.

One Of Life's Greatest Mysteries, Shark Cage Not Included!
If you're interested and fascinated with stocks, options, and the stock market like I am this is the book for you. Michael K Brown writes this aptly titled book Mastering Stocks: Strategies for Day Trading, Options Trading, Dividend Investing and Making a Living from the Stock Market. Michael K Brown is a writer with above average intelligence and writing skills as this book is not the typical "all sizzle and no steak" pitch. As a former investment broker myself I appreciate the direct hands-on knowledge the author shares with the reader. A great deal of the esoteric intel offered within these pages I had to obtain through blood, sweat, tears, and monetary loss. Mastering Stocks provides a privileged behind the scenes look at the mysterious monster known as the stock market. I only wish I had this comprehensive survival guide when I was Christened into the lair of the beast and was wholly unprepared. Behind its no-nonsense cover, lies a vast wealth of information. The author has invented and tested the wheel for you, saving you a great deal of time and anguish. I must say thank you for sharing the reality and offering sound guidance about investing.

Very helpful!
At my job, we have an option to take part of stock rates and investing into them for our retirement. I usually play things safe, but I’ve been really interested in learning more about the stock market and how to trade successfully. This book was recommended to me by a coworker. There is a lot of great information in it, especially for a beginner like me. I feel a lot more confident in purchasing stock now. Great book and very helpful.

Good investing books for people new to the stock market
I started actively investing in the stock market earlier this year, I am still very new to the stock market and I could use any help I can get. I've beeen going through many investing books the last few month and I really enjoy reading Mastering Stocks. It has a lot of information and it's easy to read and understand. I am no finance expert so I can glad the book is easy to navigate and easy to read. Good buy especially for beginners.

A must for playing the market!
Mastering Stocks is an essential guide for anyone looking to get into the risky hobby/job of trading stocks. As the author states, you can get rich from playing the market but if you don’t know what you are doing then you could conceivably lose everything you invested and be left with nothing. Hopefully, reading this will address any questions you may have concerning your new adventure. This is exactly why I chose to read this book. I have a few investments that I leave in the hands of others to deal with but I would love to learn more so that I can take an active part in trading them. I didn’t want a dry read that would bore me to sleep before the second chapter and the cover of Mastering Stocks caught my eye with its bright coloring and its succinct title. Inside are thirty-nine chapters containing everything you could ever want or need to know about trading stocks. There’s information about how to get into the market and how much money you should have to back up your trading (at least $25 000 U.S.). If you don’t want to go for the high end stocks, then there is a chapter about penny stocks and the pros and cons involved with trading them. Each chapter is laid out in such a way that there is a lot of information but it is presented in an interesting manner. Mr. Brown doesn’t lecture or come across as a know-it-all. Instead, he lays the information out for the reader and it’s up to them to decide whether or not they are prepared for the risk that can happen if they venture down this path. Mastering Stocks does solely deal with the stock market in the United States, although the author does mention other markets, and this should be kept in mind while reading the book. As an example of how risky the market can be, Mr. Brown mentions a few stocks that seem fairly sure to be around. One of those is Sears which is now bankrupt; at least it is in Canada. Obviously, this is a very risky business and this book will certainly help with deciding if you want to partake or not. I read this in digital format and it worked perfectly on my ereader.
