I bought the machine at the end of September and started using it basically nonstop through February. When it dies, it dies. The laser would focus but when you told lightburn to start the project, the laser would stop. I tried several things. Cleaned it twice. Restarted and nothing. Shut it down and did it all over again the next day. I started calling their IT desk. Their site states US hours supported but no one would answer. I would leave a message. I called every day for 3 days and the same thing...leave a message. Everyone on their IT team must be named Ryan because Ryan started responding with very dumb questions. I provided videos and then he'd ask for videos. I would explain the issue and he would ask questions about things I had already provided an answer to. A WEEK LATER, after losing my cool he tells me the person who answers the phone is on vacation and then the dumb questions start all over. By this time, my engraving business has been DOWN FOR A WEEK! I broke down and bought another laser. Not the 20W after this ordeal. Finally, after two weeks of fighting with RYAN they send me a new 20W and then start calling my phone every day to discuss the issue because they know they are getting a bad review at this point.If the machine is only going to last 3 months, buy a different machine. Before the 3 month mark, the engraver worked fine. I was very happy with the results. All I can say is buy at your own risk.

I’ve been using the Longer RAY5 5W laser engraver for a few weeks now, and it’s been an awesome experience. The 3.5” color touchscreen is super intuitive and easy to navigate—even if you’re not tech-savvy. What I love most is the offline control through the app. I can upload files and run jobs without needing to stay connected to my computer.The engraving quality is excellent on wood and glass, and even light metal etching turned out better than I expected for a 5W laser. Setup was simple, and everything was clearly labeled. Great value for the price—perfect for DIY projects, custom gifts, or starting a small craft business. Highly recommend!

It’s not a bad laser, if you’re not familiar with lasers, that can be very difficult to use. When I got mine, it was missing a couple Bolts, on the stand, so of course I had to return it, I kind of went with a different brand. You definitely need to put some type of cover over it when you’re using it.

This is a great lazer product. Thru all the things I did, there were there to answer all my questions. From asking about how the unit knows where your thing is at and what to do if your getting errors. Very nice company to offer assistance when called upon.

The media could not be loaded. I purchased this product because I wanted the ability to create things on my own instead of buying them. Initially, I wasn’t sure which one to choose, so I decided to take a chance on this one. I’m glad I did! It was not only easy to assemble but also simple to use. Tip: For your first test, use the included sample images on the SD card.A few unexpected bonuses came from purchasing through Longer/Amazon. I bought this in October but didn’t get around to assembling it until December. Unfortunately, I noticed that the red plastic “shell” was cracked. Since a month had passed, I assumed I’d just have to make do. I taped it together and hoped for the best. Later, I decided to reach out to Longer to inquire about purchasing a replacement part. To my surprise, they offered to send me the replacement piece free of charge! All I had to do was provide proof of purchase and a photo of the damaged part. Their excellent customer service really impressed me.The video showcases the final result of engraving the test compass image, and it turned out fantastic!

I've had a few laser engravers in the past. This is the first 20w that I've owned. I don't have a good ventilation system set up yet so I don't do much cutting, but the engraving continues to impress me. I've engraved on many materials that I wouldn't have tought possible. For example: I added names to cloth bags (high speed, low power), engraved on ceramic tile and then colored the engraving and even rocks. Depending on the color (red or brown seem best) and type of rock, you can get some great results. The rocks in the photos are smaller than palm size.
