First, I really like that these are TWICE as long as "regular" glue sticks (8" vs. 4"), so I don't have to change them out as often. Second, they dry really quickly!I used to use Super Glue, but I have found that hot glue works MUCH better for my outdoor fairy garden items which I have set up all year long! I simply create a "pile" of hot glue on a paper plate, insert a stainless-steel wood screw upside down and add more glue around the screw head. Once dried, I peel them off the plate and then glue them to bases of animals, fairies, gnomes, and other small fairy garden items! This keeps them firmly in place, so less maintenance of items that would otherwise fall over from wind, rain, or the many animals that constantly traipse through my fairy garden.This is my first time using these particular glue sticks, so I cannot quite yet speak for the durability/longevity of this product. What I can say is that it dries WHITE, not CLEAR when using large amounts of glue. If using only a small amount, it might dry clear, but my "bases" are definitely more white than clear. I also used these glue sticks to fill up a small "bucket" which I will place in the "farm" section of my fairy garden near a cow, so it will look like it is filled with milk. If it had dried clear, it would have looked like water in the bucket, but it definitely looks white--like milk, which is okay with me.At $9.99 for 20 long (8") glue sticks, that works out to 50¢ per 8" glue stick. This package of twenty 8" glue sticks is comparable to forty 4" glue sticks. They aren't the cheapest glue sticks on the market, but I do like the length. I have seen longer glue sticks, but those are getting to the "awkward-to-work-with" size. These 8" glue sticks are perfect with my glue gun.So far, I recommend this product. I will update if, for some reason, they do not hold up in my fairy garden here in the Pacific Northwest.

My daughter has hit her crafting phase, and she seems to be blowing through my hot glue sticks quickly, so when I saw these I thought I would give them a try. First thing I noticed is that these hot glue sticks don't quite measure up to the advertised size--they're a touch shorter and a bit skinnier. The ones I received are 7-13/16" long by 0.415" - 0.418" in diameter (according to my digital calipers, which I have no reason to distrust). My current glue sticks, while shorter (at just over 4" in length), are 0.448" in diameter.That said, these glue sticks are nice and clear compared to the more opaque glue sticks I currently have. For basic crafting purposes, I'm not sure that the brand of glue stick really matters much--they're sort of a commodity in my mind, where if the price is right and they do the job, then don't worry about the "brand". These are a little pricier than other glue sticks out there, but they did arrive quickly.

This is your average full sized glue stick. Works great in glue guns or glue pots. Dries clear.

These work great in my full size hot glue gun. They are made for the larger gun. They will not fit in the smaller size gun. They melt quickly and hold well. They dry to an opaque white color. I have used them on various projects with good results.

Correct size for my regular glue gun. More clear than normal glue gun sticks, which I really like.
