what's the difference between this one and the item 40520???

I looked at the Victorinox catalog and it appears the only difference is that the 40520 was "Tested and certified bei NSF-International." They both are authentic Victorinox. This model, 6.8063.20 on page 104, appears to be the same blade as the other with different ergonomics on the handle. Being $7 cheaper from Amazon but nearly identical knife, this seems the way to go.

Are these knives full tang?

Hi. I'm from Victorinox. The knife has a 50% tang. Most stamped knives have what's called a "rat" tang, which is usually much shorter and can sometimes come loose. The tang will never come loose from the handle and that is guaranteed in our warranty. Professionals in meat processing facilities use our knives all day long. They are balanced for the weight of the blade and handle. Knives that have a heavier blade, need a full tang for balance.

I received this less than a week ago, at first the cutting was precise and easy, now it slips when I cut foods like it's getting dull. anyone else?

Hi, I'm from Victorinox. It helps if you hone the edge each day. It's not sharpening the knife, but realigning the edge so that it doesn't go dull. Swipe each side of the knife against the steel once or twice. Most of the people who own our knives and take care of them in this fashion can go 6 months to a year without sharpening. . .and that is with daily use. Why doesn't the knife I got match the one in picture? The knife that came does not have "Fibrox" on the handle nor does the blade match the picture.

Hi. I'm from Victorinox. There are variations in the mold used by the factory for the handle. The handle is the same though and still made in Switzerland. Could you tell me more about what is different on the blade? They are phasing out the Swiss emblem at the factory, so you will start to see just "Victorinox" on the blade. I believe the item number should still be there too though. Not all 3rd party sellers on amazon are "authorized" sellers, meaning they are not buying their knives directly from us. It is best to buy directly from amazon or an authorized 3rd party seller.
