Three Squirrels Sichuan Peppercorns, Szechuan Peppercorns, Essential for Mapo Tofu, 8 oz.

This was my first time buying this type of product and I LOVE the peppercorns. I have used them to make a chili oil, and many Asian dishes. I pounded them out to add to a buttermilk based marinade for chicken. Added a little salt, nutmeg, and cayenne. Wow was that delish! I would buy this again.

Good, strong flavor with a good level of numbing sensation. Plenty to last for a long time, so the value is wonderful. Very heavy in the lemon grass flavor so a little goes a long way.

Amazingly low price, Amazingly high quality. Mainly husks, which is what you want in Szechuan red peppercorns. That is where the aroma and flavor are. In black peppercorns, it is the opposite. it is the seed, and not the husk that is the flavor and heat. So, when you look at a bag of Szechuan peppercorns and you see mainly husks, be thankful.

Great addition to kitchen to throw into dishes for an x factor.

All heat/mouth numbing and very little flavor.Not at all what I am used to-- the "warm and lemon-like pungency with woodsy overtones" --from Spicely or Frontier.Plus, they send you like a bushel basket of the stuff. What, am I running a restaurant?Would return it if I could.Definitely be more careful next time. No more shopping on my phone!

Nice quality. Didn't have any of the peppercorns. Which is what you want with these. You only want the shell.

Wasn't thrilled with this batch . Not as refined or smooth as usual . I use to cure duck breasts however this time flavor was not consistant and over powering .
