UltraFlex TSA Approved Lock with RED OPEN ALERT Indicator for Luggage & GYM Lockers

I bought this set of TSA luggage padlocks with the flexible cable type shackles as well as the set with the rigid steel shackles to go on a trip in March. I am not a frequent traveler and never used one of these types of locks. Previously, I thought that TSA was going to get in there if they wanted to so, why bother? I now know that this will keep out curiosity seekers and the TSA will have to lock it up again to get their key back.This lock will indicate when TSA opens it.I had no challenge setting the combination to my own personal setting with the instructions that were provided. I think it's a nifty little lock that I will probably find other uses for around the house.It is about 1-5/8" square, seems to be solidly built. I tried it on a piece of luggage (pictured).I recommend this lock and/or its sister lock, the more robust model with the solid shackle.Safe Travels!JoAnne

  I created a video review prior to my travels over the holidays. I show in great detail the use of this lock.I was traveling over the holidays to visit family and I had a couple of bags that I needed locks for. One being an oversized bag, which is why I purchased this lock set, and a smaller bag. I purchased another lock set from Alpine Rivers called the Ultra Tuff for the smaller bag. The problem with general locks is that the TSA can't open your bag. They need to have easy access if they need to inspect your bag(s). This lock is TSA approved.I was actually very impressed with the quality of construction and the ease of use. And although TSA didn't have to inspect my bag on my trip, I know that all my belongings were safe. Another use for this lock (and the other lock) is you can also use on lockers at work or even at the gym. Just a thought. Anyways, I would highly recommend Alpine Rivers' UltraFlex lock.

This is a nice sturdy combination lock. I travel a lot and hate it when the zippers work their way open on my luggage. These TSA locks give me a little extra peace of mind that while TSA can still check my luggage, the zippers will not work their way open and not just anyone can get into my luggage easily. The little red open alert button tells me when TSA has opened the lock to screen my luggage.The combinations were easy to set with the instructions provided. Not only that, but I was able to easily reset the combination to a new one so I can update the combination periodically for added security.One more thing, I like the size of the lock and the flexible cable really well for use on the locker when I'm swimming at the rec center. It's so easy to slip through the hasp and secure my belongings.

These are the best TSA locks I have used used so far!!. The flexible cord makes it very easy to secure anything from luggage & toiletry kits to computer bags & personal caring on bags. The cable is flexible & thin so it is easier to look thru zippers even if they are small. I used them n my checked luggage last week and my carry on bags. The color coded door located on the lock itself let me know if TSA felt the need to open my. When TSA uses a key to open luggage it changes the indicator light from green to red. You need to know 3 digit code to reset indicator back to Green. I used these locks last week on checked luggage and carry-on bags. It worked perfectly on my CPAP bag keeping my medication safe and out of sight. I used it on my Free Flyer dry bag that I carry when I need more than a wallet (I don't care for purse"s unless they are small evening style) These simply are great for keeping a multitude of bags securely closed whether you are traveling or just want to keep your laptop bag, purse, etc secured at your desk at work. My husband puts one on his lunch bag to keep others out of his lunch and it allows him to store his meds safely as well.

I use this for duffle bags and when TSA broke my TSA lock for my samsonite carry on when it got lost by the airline. These are great locks and very handy since they give you more options for hooking rather than just the usual zipper holes. For example, if your bag has side handles, i've hooked the zipper holes all the way to one side and attached them to a side handle. Once again, TSA opened my luggage just recently and they closed this one just fine - they didn't break or reset it.

I ordered the Flex Lock version for my Grandparents figuring it would be easier for them to use. The locks are nice quality, have solid construction and work great. My Grandparents had no issues using them or setting a combination and with the longer braided cable proved to be the best option for their luggage.When they returned home from vacation I was told that TSA cut the cable because the lock was supposedly jammed. I contacted Robin, co-founder of Alpine Rivers on a Saturday evening, not expecting a response over the weekend, and received a reply within the hour. Robin immediately sent out a replacement which was received that Monday. I was highly impressed with the level of customer service and the expedient resolution. Great product that I will use on my luggage and backpack while traveling. Easy to reset the code and the "open alert" feature is helpful, although the TSA usually makes such a mess in the bag it is easy to tell they've been there.
