Very crude castings
It seems that all pitcher pumps today are imports. I was unable to find any that were quality made at any price. This one has a little thicker casting than some, but they are very crudely cast and heavily painted to smooth out the faults. The inside cylinder walls are very rough and will undoubtedly wear out leathers very quickly. The pipe threads are filled with paint and impacted filings and are very difficult to clean enough to get a fitting to thread. The draw rod rubs against the top casting but are soft enough that they can be bent so that it works. With some ingenuity it should be possible to get the thing in working order. The basics are here for you to work with. I think most people are purchasing them for decorative purposes. A pitcher pump is certainly not a precision high tech item but there really is no excuse for making something so poorly if it is intended for use. I suppose we should be thankful to the Chinese for making them at all, and making them cheaply, since we apparently are incapable of producing them in America. I believe that there would be a market for a well made pump in the $150-200 price range. The world is full of pixel pushers while foundry work has become a lost art.

Full of Lead and Arrived Broken
Item arrived broken so can't speak to it's water lifting qualities. The paint is applied poorly and the coat isn't even. It looks like a hasty rattle-can job. Returning for refund and will not be using this manufacturer again.

Inspect the product before you install it
I finally figuered out why this well isn't working. Took it apart and realized theres a chip in the bottom that lets air get sucked in rather than water up.Disappointing because I bought this months ago and it's past the return date. Also its installed. I had to put caulk over the chip in order for it to function. Its working but could have been better.
