Child Immersion Pool/Water Alarm Kit - 2 Blue Wristbands

This is the best investment we have made. We wish we had found this before our dog drowned in our Koi Pond.. We put it on our new dog and my other dog. We attached the turtles alarms onto their dogs collars. The alarm unit is in our living room. We tested it in our Koi Pond and our swimming pool and Jacuzzi. At all times the alarm has gone off. The alarm is very loud and can be heard anywhere in the house. We now can relax more knowing that if one of the dogs falls into any water the alarm will sound off. This is a far better solution than and older gadget that we tried which if the water moved it would go off. Every time the pool cleaner came on it went off. Also, you had to buy an unit for each source of water which would be to expensive. The Turtle Alarm works in all water sources so you need only one unit and buy the collars for each dog. The only negative thing, and this is very minor, the alarm continues unit the collar turtle is dry. You just unplug the unit and dry the collar turtle. We gladly do this to make our dogs safer. We highly recommend this product.

I've had this for less than a month and three times the alarm has triggered spontaneously. The first time was when no one was home, but we came home to the alarm going off (the bracelets were in the pocket of the base). The second time was in the middle of the night and the whole family woke up (again, the bracelets were in the pocket of the base unit). The third time was when my twin nephews were visiting and wearing the bracelets and I was watching them play on our trampoline--no where near any water or any damp surfaces.The alarm did go off correctly when I tested the bracelets by intentionally getting them wet, so they work. But these aren't a viable alarm system if they trigger without cause--setting up a completely unsafe "boy who cried wolf" scenario.I like the idea of this alarm, but it isn't a viable option if it sounds when there is no danger.*****Updated one hour after original review****I hadn't taken the bracelets off my nephews after the third false alarm I mentioned above. The boys were running around my house and I found one of the bracelets on the floor of the hallway. THE TWO YEAR OLD HAD GOTTEN THE BRACELET OFF. Did I just get all the possible defective parts sent to me in one box??? How on earth can this be a reliable safety device if a two year old can get it off???

Hardest part was putting it on out granddaughter's wrist. It worked great when she put her hand in the pool.

The product works well but buyers should be aware that there are batteries in the wristband that cannot be replaced. They are sealed in a waterproof hard plastic material that does not allow for customer or factory replacement. This means that once the battery is dead, you have to throw it out and buy a new one at ~$50 a piece. A better design would have been to allow for replaceable batteries like you find in a watch or car remote. Yes, that would likely drive up the wrist band cost but who likes throwing out a $50 wrist band when the battery dies.

The alarm comes with two wrist bands and both work as described. When the wrist band sensor gets wet, the alarm will not go off until the sensor is removed from the water and dried. You can turn the alarm down to a 1/2 level once it goes off, but it will still keep going until the sensor is dry.I like that the alarm has to be plugged in an electrical outlet to work so there is no worry about batteries running down. We set the alarm inside and tried the wrist bracelets outside in the pool about 30-40 feet away. When the bracelet got wet, the alarm went off so the bracelet signal to the alarm worked though exterior walls.

My 2 year old grandson would not wear the 'watch'. Well maybe when he is 3? Worked as advertised.
