Had my LAST one for "8" years... But unfortunately, someone borrowed it, and didn't return it.. So just purchased this one with my fingers crossed, hoping this one will work.. Too many bad reviews, but this new one works too! I also use it to test my "moissanite".... Genuine moissanite "WILL" indeed test as a diamond. IF it's authentic moissanite. Had WAY too many moissanite rings purchased on Amazon, that were NOT moissanite as the sellers claimed!!! (angry emoji face). FYI; .. Only the brand "MOOSEA" moissanite proved to be genuine moissanite. Available here on Amazon. G-R-E-A-T prices too!!!

Says they come with battery and I bought 2 of these testers at once and got no battery in any of them. Even in the introductions paper it states that they come with a battery yet both came without any battery

I followed the instructions. I know a little bit about gems. I was not getting readings for what I had already proven to be legit stones. The other problem that concern me is that the bag that the item came with contained a jagged piece of strange plastic that I was unsure was supposed to be a part of the unit itself or who knows. But I'm returning this. One star for trying. One star for nice instructions that unfortunately did not help with the products operation. Perhaps I indeed received a broken unit. I won't know because I'm not reordering this.

Item worked as stated in description. Tested some rings and they tester was spot on. I would buy again.
