Handy to have
The Freezer Soup Containers are a fantastic addition to any kitchen for meal prepping and food storage. The concept of using these containers to freeze soup, juice, ice, leftovers, or yogurt is excellent. Once the food is frozen, the container design helps save space in the freezer by allowing you to stack or organize items efficiently. The containers are easy to use, and the flexible material makes it simple to release the frozen food. Overall, I find these containers very practical and space-saving, and they have been a great addition to my food storage solutions.

Great for left overs
Reviewed by my wife I hate to waste anything so I am always making soup with left over veg or pasta sauce from tomatoes when they are in the shops but my freezer soon fills up with odd shaped bags so I thought I would try these containers to see how they worked. In the pack you get two containers and 4 bands. The containers are put together and held in place by the bands on each side. To use them you put a freezer bag inside( not included) then fill them up with whatever you are going to freeze. I stood mine up in the freezer and the next day when the contents was frozen I took off the bands and prised the two halves apart to leave a solid block of soup. Having now done a few of these blocks I have found it so much easier to store the blocs in the freezer as they are uniform in size and shape and can be stacked. The one downside of these containers is that you have to find the correct sized bag to go inside which is a bit of a problem and it would be nice if a pack was supplied. At £9.99 for 2 they are not expensive and do make storage easier. I am going to buy the pack of 4 at £14.99 so I have plenty when I bulk make soup or sauce.

One of those things I find more trouble than they are worth.
This set of 2 freezer containers arrive sealed together in clear plastic measuring approx 18cm x 13cm x 7cm. I have been using the library system to freeze bulk cooked food for years and found it makes my freezer so much more organised. Up until now I have just put the food in ziplock freezer bags, squished the food into a fairly thin 'book' shape, then laid them flat in the freezer until they are frozen solid, then I can stack them very compactly as I want. I thought these might help because the hardest thing is finding the flat free space before the contents have frozen enough and these should solve that issue. You are supposed to use these as a mould to shape your blocks, but it's a bit of a pain fixing them together and I fully expect to lose the bands that are supposed to hold them in place. Years of using the library system has also taught me that the thinner the 'book' you make, the faster to defrost which is what I want for those nights you just want to grab some soup/chilli/whatever from the freezer and eat as soon as possible. As I'm freezing portions for 2, these are too deep and short to be all that useful for me. I buy supermarket branded small ziplock freezer bags which comfortably hold enough for 2 or 3 people for something like a chilli portion (not including rice of course). They are too small to use with these so I'd have to buy over sized bags to fit these. I think these are going to be one of those things that ends up living in the cupboard for a few years until I do a big clear out of all the things that turned out to be more trouble than they are worth. It's not that they don't sort of work, but they don't suit me. Good idea though.

So clever to avoid food waste
Our family loves meal prepping and we hardly throw anything away that is edible. We have a big freezer and these soup containers help tremendously to get the most out of our freezer. They freeze our leftovers in a shape that is the most efficient for storage. We are very happy with this set of products and gladly recommend it to you.

Game changer
This made such a difference when I am trying to portion my meals into freezer bags. It made it so much easier to dispense into the bags and so much cleaner!!! Its simple design and easy to put the bag in and then dispense the food. Brilliant

Needs adequate vertical space in the freezer
The 'Lifewit Freezer Soup Containers 2 Pack, 4 Cup (1 Quart) Soup Cubes for Food Organizer' arrived in a simple wrap. These containers have no instructions on how to use them, meaning the user has to refer to the product page, which may not be available when needed. Having bulk processed food for the home freezer for over 20 years, I have found an efficient way to do things using 600ml and 1l plastic trays with lids, but these moulds intrigued me so I decided to try them as a comparison. The first issue I encountered with these was aligning the two halves, the mating parts are a tight fit, though fitting the bands was a simple task, but it is important to remember both bands otherwise the holder might separate as food is poured into the bag. The second issue and this should have been considered before ordering is that to freeze these they need to be stood upright in the freezer, so there needs to be adequate height available in the drawer, which may exclude many under counter freezers. In addition to the two moulds (soup containers)' suitable freezer bags are needed. With two of these moulds I can freeze 2x1l of food per session, but I must have bags and vertical space available to freeze them. It is also important to writ eon the bag before using it as it may not be as easy when frozen. If there is excess surplus food it has to wait until the moulds are again available for use. I am sorry to say these are not for me, as they add considerably to my existing process that comprises of pouring the soup into a 1l plastic tray and putting the lid on. It would have been nice if there were spare bands provided should one or two be lost.

Zum platzsparenden Einfrieren von Suppe etc. Gut geeignet. Das Zusammenstecken ist etwas frimelig. Der Preis ist für den einfachen Artikel zu hoch.
