Product description Colon cancer is one of the most common forms of cancer and early detection is vital. The sooner it is detected, the greater are the chances of successful treatment. If it is treated at an early stage the survival rate exceeds 90%.Why is this test important to me?95% of all cases of colon (bowel) cancer result from benign pre-stages, so-called polyps. This means that this type of cancer is one of the few where the development of tumours can be prevented by early intervention. If the polyp is found in time and removed, it can halt the development of colon cancer. How do I perform the test?A sample of your stool (faeces) is taken with a stick and inserted into a tube pre-filled with a buffer solution. A drop of this mixture is then placed on the test strip for evaluation. What does the result tell me?If the test shows a positive result (two lines in the window), you can assume that there is blood in your stool. This should be examined by a doctor. Please note: blood in the stool can have other causes (e.g. haemorrhoids). If colon polyps are detected, it is the size of the polyp that determines the risk of colon cancer. Why is testing so important?Polyps in the colon usually cause no problem and may go unnoticed for many years. But early detection of colon cancer is very important: the chance of survival is higher than 90% if the cancer is detected and treated in its early stages. How does this test work? There are no dietary restrictions when testing with this new method for detecting invisible (so-called occult) traces of blood in the stool. The test detects human bleeding specifically and accurately and is not influenced by diet. How high are my chances of developing colon cancer?Regular testing alone cannot prevent the development of polyps. The cause of colon cancer is largely unknown. Howev Safety Warning Keep out of reach of children. Store at 4-30°C. Read instructions for use carefully.

Home testing
These home testing kits are cheap and easy to use. It is questionable whether they can tell the difference between human blood and animal blood so for the bowel kit it is better to change your diet (eg - no red meat). I used one of these kits alongside an NHS one - the home test was negative but the NHS kit was subsequently positive ( a microscopic test). As a result I was advised to have a colonoscopy. The result is pending.

not meaning to scaremonger here but please read what I have to say
I was sent a poop test for my 60th from the NHS which I duly sent off within 3 days of receiving it. It was my first and it was only after receiving notification that it wasn't normal that I realised I might have a hemorrhoid which might affect the outcome. So being the hypochondriac that I am I decided to take a home kit to allay my fears before my online consultation. I Googled and read reviews and bought this kit based on the fact that it Google says that home tests are 92% accurate and that 5% of the remainder give a false positive. So when the online consultation happened I was pretty confident that the NHS would just sent me another test kit to iron out the discrepancy - but they don't do that. I put it down to bureaucratic restrictions and reluctantly agreed to go for a full colonoscopy utterly believing that it would come up with nothing nasty. I had the colonoscopy today and 4 polyps of varying sizes were removed for analysis. I had absolutely no idea that I had nasties growing in my colon. The fact is that 1 in 10 polyps will develop into cancer. I have been told that mine look ok but I'm not going to know for sure for another couple of weeks and that's fine because even in the worst case, it's all been found early. This test kit was very easy to use and I'm sure in most cases it is accurate but please don't believe it is as accurate as the one provided by the NHS. Stay safe :)

Kit failed to give a result
I followed the instructions, but the test kit didn't give either a positive or negative result, absolutly no hint of control or test line developed.

Useless product
Useless product, took this test on the same day/time as I sent a stool sample to the hospital. This product showed no presence of blood in the sample. Two days after I received the result from the hospital test which showed very high levels of blood in my sample and I was advised to attend a hospital ASAP snake oil rubbish I suggest not for anyone to buy this as the readings are totally inaccurate

Mine was faulty
Followed the instructions perfectly and have used these types of tests before with no problems. Didn't get the C line at all and then noticed that the card inside wasn't actually lined up in the window at all so think the one I received was faulty. Really disappointing as these are not cheap. Wouldn't buy this brand again.
