Whole house coverage with one access point
First off, the setup was a breeze. I’ve used plenty of devices over the years, and this was one of the easiest to get configured to my liking. If you choose, you can use the Omada app as it walks you through step by step, but even without it, it’s simple to get things going if you know what you’re doing. I had it up and running in no time, and the app lets me fine-tune the settings with ease while i was playing with it. Once it was installed, the signal quality was where this thing really impressed me. It blankets my entire house, including upstairs and even into the backyard, with no dead spots. The 6GHz band is a game-changer for modern devices, and even when I’m running multiple streams from my Plex server at 4k, and doing work over remote desktop, everything stays fast and stable. The tri-band really helps with separating traffic so nothing gets bogged down. I also really appreciate the PoE functionality. It made placing the access point in the perfect spot much easier since I didn’t have to worry about finding an outlet nearby. With PoE, I could focus on getting the best coverage without running power cables all over the place. For anyone who’s got a decent-sized home and needs top-tier performance without fuss, this access point delivers. It’s not often I find gear that works this well straight out of the box, but the Omada EAP772 paired with my ER605 router definitely does.

Good price. Great performance
This access point has been working great so far and provides a strong enough signal to cover my full 2300 sq ft and garage with only a few spots dropping under full bars. Setup and management we simple. An oversight on my side, it does not come with a power supply, but thankfully I had forgot to recycle a bunch of old plugs from forgotten equipment and had one that was fully within spec.

an absolute beast. But not for everyone
lets start with positives. this has everything you could possibly want in an access point. 2.5g port, full control over all the setting and security features, full control over wifi name and password, POE connectivity, and most importantly it has wifi 7 capabilities. negatives. this this is not all that user friendly. there is quite a bit of a learning curve. first in order to access the settings you have to know what IP address your router assigned it as. If you don't already know how to do that you are already in a bit of trouble. also in order to do this right you have to mount it to the ceiling and run an ethernet cable from your ceiling to your switch that has POE capability. That isn't something the normal consumer can do so you may have to hire someone to do it. Also do keep in mind that this is a standalone access point and not a router. So you will need to buy a separate wired router. Lastly regarding the wifi 7 capeability. Currently there are almost no devices that have wifi 7 built in. It is a very new technology that will need time to grow. But the next generation of cell phones should all have them in the next couple of years. This thing is designed for a business or a home with a lot of devices wirelessly connected. This fits my needs perfectly, but this is definitely not for the average home user.

Lack of updates, EOL quick
Got v1 revision and it was EOL within months and last firmware update was Aug 2024. Stay away from TP-Link.

So far so good
Been up and running for about a month now without issues. Typical speed for a wifi 6e device such as my iphone 15 pro is up to 1100 Mbps. Older wifi 6 phones can do 800-900Mbps. Range is acceptable from where it is centrally located in my house.

6Ghz can be flakey, but good otherwise.
Fast, configurable, but not entirely reliable. I'm using the software controller in a VM for managing a couple of these. The configurability and options blow away any consumer device for not really any more cost. The only issue I seem to often experience is the 6Ghz SSID availability. When working, I can get just over 1 GBps over WiFi 6E from my phone. The is an internal test to a speed test docker that is capable of aleast 2.5GBE speeds. Lastly, TP-Link has a questionable security reputation. But I don't use a TP-Link router or other manager networking hardware. As they say, don't put all your eggs in on basket.

Work great, cheapest Wifi 7 you can get right now
Upgraded my wifi network with these. I currently use two of these throughout the house and one more in the garage. They are moderately priced and performance is great. My APs are in the ceiling/floor so they have to penetrate the plywood, carpet, drywall etc. depending on where I am. Even through that I pull about 800mbps with my phone and computer (wifi 6E). If I get closer I can get 950 mbps. When I actually have some wifi 7 devices I'm sure it'll just get better.

Received hardware version 1.0 when 1.6, V2 and 2.6 are available.
5 stars for the device which is great so far. Setup is easy with vlans and signal coverage is very good. My complaint is that the device web page shows Hardware Version 1, the package showed Version 1.1, and the Firmware update page shows V2 and V2.6 available while the TP-Link website says this is a "new" item. Buying a new device I would expect to get the latest or perhaps 1 hardware version back, not 4 versions back and the initial version at that. There is no way to know what hardware version you are going to get when buying.
