Excellent Product!!
This is a great charcoal starter!! I actually have a wood pellet burning grill. This item will help me incorporate that great charcoal flavor back into my grilling without the use of liter fluid! It has a high quality and is very well made. I give it 5 stars!!

Small, very small; not really for “BBQ charcoal” starting, but for “hookah charcoal” only
This “Electric Stove Coconut Charcoal Starter, 120V~500W, Detachable Handle, Stainless Steel Grill & Rack, Smart Heat Control, Long Cable for BBQ Kitchen” should not be confused with an actual “BBQ charcoal” starter, which will need a LOT more volume to start charcoals for BBQ. I was hoping to use this to start binchotan for my yakitori grill, but this is WAY too small for that purpose. To set the expectation, this can probably start like 4 pieces of BBQ charcoal briquettes, and that's about it. But the true intention for this unit, is probably for starting “hookah charcoals”, which you would only need like a few cubes (of coconut charcoal) at most at a time, then this unit is perfect (for its size and its function). Best of all, this unit is pretty economical, at $10! And at this price, I probably wouldn’t walk away when this unit is in operation, and I would probably turn it off and unplug it whenever I wasn’t around to “supervise” it.Thank you for reading this review, I hope that this review & the pictures are helpful to you in support of your purchase decision.

not so great as hotplate
I wanted to use this for emergencies or camping. Since it was only 500 watts, I wanted to use it with an 800-watt portable battery. The problem is that it is very inefficient at heating water. I put a small enamel pot on the top of the grate. There is a lot of space between the element and the top of the grate cup. Most of the heat from the red-hot coil was coming out the sides and not getting to the water. After maybe 15 minutes on level 5, which is the highest level, I gave up. The water got to around 138F in a half full pot. The heat coming out the sides was intense. This might be good in a situation where you have no heat and want to heat your space at the same time as heating some water. In the summer, it can knock you out.I put the whole thing in my sink on an acacia wood cutting board on a draining matt so that I wouldn't wreck the countertop. The stainless-steel sink was probably amplifying the heat. It felt like a blast furnace. You get tongs to remove the stove to a different location or to just remove the upper grate cup and lid. I left the pot on top to steep some tea.It is small and portable. You do have to let some manufacturing grease burn off at first or you get a bad smell in your home. I guess it would be good for heating charcoal for incense or a hookah, which I never used. I am wondering if you could heat regular charcoal in it for a cookout out grill. They want you to remove the charcoal from this right after you heat it up.

great for hookah coals or in a dorm
This Electric Stove Coconut Charcoal Starter is a steal at 10 dollars. I love using this to start the coals for my hookah. We also use it to prepare small batches of charcoal when we are going to BBQ and the weather is not cooperating. It heats up very quickly and gets the coals ready without the hassle we normally go through. I like how portable and convenient the small size makes this stove. I think it would be great in a hostel or dorm type setting. An individual could easily cook small single meals using this product. The materials are easy to wipe down and have held up nicely over the summer. No issues so far.5/5

It heats up quickly
The main point that I liked is the speed that it heats up. However if you are using a tough to light charcoal like the coconut charcoal you will need to let the coal sit for awhile to get it ready.I do like how the handle is also the tongs.

Electric Stove Coconut Charcoal Starter
The Electric Stove Coconut Charcoal Starter, with its 120V~500W power rating, detachable handle, and stainless steel grill and rack, presents a modern solution for quickly igniting charcoal. However, its performance comes with several caveats. The starter’s smart heat control feature is designed to efficiently ignite charcoal, and the long cable adds flexibility for placement. The detachable handle is a thoughtful touch for easy storage and portability. The stainless steel construction ensures durability and ease of cleaning. The main issue with this charcoal starter is its excessive heat output. Even with cotton mittens, the handle becomes too hot to comfortably hold, posing a risk of burns. The intense heat it generates can potentially melt carpet and damage hardwood floors, making it unsafe for indoor use without precautions.Given its high heat levels, this starter is best suited for outdoor use. It is crucial to handle it with heavy-duty, heat-resistant gloves and place it on a heat-resistant surface. Indoors, the risk of heat damage makes it less practical, and users should be cautious to avoid potential hazards. While the Electric Stove Coconut Charcoal Starter is effective for quickly igniting charcoal and has a solid build, its extreme heat output makes it unsuitable for indoor use without appropriate safety measures. For best results, use it outdoors with proper heat protection.
