✮ Created in collaboration with scientists at the Natural History Museum, this mix includes wildflowers that are perfect for attracting bats into our gardens. A super Christmas stocking filler or gardening gift ✮ ✮ ✮ Bat Mix contains a special mix of wildflowers to attract a wide diversity of insects that bats feed on, including flowers that release their fragrance in the evening when bats are most active in our gardens. The mix also has a plants with a combination of long and short pollen tubes and a range of colours and shapes of flower to maximise the number of insects that they attract.✮ Growing wildflowers from seed balls provides natural protection for the seeds - helping germination rates and growth without complex propagation. Very easy to use - simply scatter on top of soil or compost and let nature do the rest! They'll grow equally well in pots. ✮ Each seed ball contains a mini ecosystem: wildflower seeds are mixed with clay, peat-free compost and a smidgen of chilli powder, and rolled into a small ball. The dried clay acts as a protective casing from common seed predators (such as ants, mice and birds). When sufficient rain permeates the clay, the seeds inside begin to germinate - helped along by the nutrients and minerals contained within the ball. The chilli powder continues to deter predators while the seed ball slowly degrades and the seeds sprout. ✮ Twenty seed balls (1 tin) per square meter is recommended for a garden, or 3 - 5 seed balls for a small to medium sized pot. ✮ Best scattered in the spring or autumn, and each ball contains approx 30 seeds.✮ ✮ Please be patient with growth, native wildflowers are naturally slow to sprout (2-6 weeks) and flower (not all plants will flower in first summer). Please contact us if you would like any further advice, we're always happy to help! :)

Well, I'll check back if nothing grows, but
…these are a great idea. Wanted to flower bomb the wild bit at the bottom of my garden. We already have bats in the evenings, so I wanted to encourage them. Easy to use, but it's too early to say if anything will grow.

Oh Dear!
What a shame, a fantastic idea, seeds in little clay balls, just drop on the top of the soil and let nature do it's thing! No, they are still little clay balls......I'm still waiting. I think that the price you pay is more the gimmick aspect, but I may be proved wrong. If so, I will update the review.

Corn marigolds and cornflowers are real stars!
My experience with this product has been very positive. The corn marigolds are beautiful and there are lots to come. The cornflowers, unfortunately, are now over but there were plenty of them and the bees loved them. The other flowers are coming through now, although I haven’t seen any primroses (possibly too late for them). The night scented stock is lovely and has a very heady fragrance. This has been a real success story. Bats roost in the power station at the bottom of our garden so I can’t vouch for whether the plants attract them or not, but all in all I’m very pleased.

Avoid
They just didn't work. Waste of money. Seedball people love the success stories but ignore customers who have problems with their product.
