Impressed
I am a 5" 5' horsewoman learning to natural-trim horse hooves. I was a bit skeptical about this rasp, because of its economical price. After reading the reviews, being on a tight budget and having only two horses, I decided to give it a try. This is my first rasp and I have to say, I like it. It is constructed well, and isn't too hard to manage. It is also sharp; I didn't have to put a ton of pressure to rasp the hooves well, which was a great bonus since I do not consider myself to have great upper-body strength! I have only used it once, but it seems like it will last a while. I will try to update after a few months.

Durable in wet climates and stays sharp up to 6 months!
Buying this for a second time and would recommend it to anyone who trims hooves! I have been using my first rasp for 6 months! I trim about 30 horses a month with it and it's just now needing to be replaced. I also live in a wet & humid climate and leave my tools in the barn (not heated), it has not rusted like other rasps I've done this to. I trim on muddy hooves with it and don't clean it and it's fine, still no rust. The grid is square shaped giving it more efficient cutting surfaces on each tooth. The grated hoof is wider than what ordinary rasps accomplish, it's like using a cheese grater verses a lemon zester (my bad example of how little other rasps do). I have been trimming for about 13 years now and this is the best rasp I've ever found! I will keep my old one as a back up, it's still a good tool.

Best rasp I have ever used
Best rasp I have ever used! I trim over 100 horses in a 6 week rotation, and this rasp really has reduced the amount of effort I put into a job well done. Very sharp, aggressive rasp left me using little effort to do the job, which I really appreciate! I used it for the first time at a horse show this past weekend. It was over 90 degrees, and I didn't feel near as hot or tired at the end of the day as I usually do. Exim Xtreme Farrier Rasp is my new go-to rasp. I will never be without one.

Not very sharp
not very sharp. I looked up some reviews and got it because of the price. It's just a rasp that you might want to use if your horse's feet are soft or otherwise easy to trim.Hard feet? No way. You're going to suffer. It catches on the hoof. It's just not that sharp.Get a SaveEdge instead. Those are great rasps. I'm getting one of those next.Recommended? For easy feet only.

Five Stars
Works quite well. I'm on my 9th trim with it and this will probably be its last.

Excellent, agressive rasp!
This hoof rasp is extremely sharp and goes through even a tough hoof with ease! Even the reverse "fine" side of the file is very sharp, it just simply takes off less material. I am truly impressed!

sharp and easy to use rasp
I need to smooth out my pony's feet in between the farrier visit. I am a small woman with small hands, but the rasp is efficient, taking off burrs rapidly. A great tool.

super sharp!!! , removes the hoof very well, including knuckles !!! do not hit your knuckles with this rasp, it is very sharp. I use it on minis to draft, fits my hand well and my dads, just needs a handle but works great
