Don't buy this item
If you are in a fragile relationship or have suicidal thoughts then don't buy this item. It took two of us the best part of 3 hours to put together as the instructions were dreadful and the pictures unclear. I have only used it once so far as the weather has generally been dreadful. I am wary about moving it in case it falls to bits and then to add insult to injury my Which? magazine came through the door stating that it was a Don't Buy. If only I had waited another week then I would have grilled my burgers on a camp fire like we used to do in the Scouts

Good value for a small barbecue, and easy to build
I’m really happy with this. The build instructions are clear and it took a couple of hours - you could probably do it quicker if you’ve built a barbecue before. The only tricky part of construction was slotting the legs into the base - it’s a tight fit and the manual recommends using a rubber hammer to ‘ease’ the legs in. You can be up and running in no time on the grill, it heats up nicely with the lid down and the lava rocks simulate coals nicely. Take care with the side burner, as pans will balance on a shiny surface and there’s nothing to help them grip. Having said that, I managed to cook vegetables on a griddle pan well. For the price, this is a nice little barbecue and you can cook for six people easily without having to take food off the grill and keep it warm. I haven’t tried to cook pizza or a whole chicken in it yet but initial results with smaller food is very promising.EDIT: Having now cooked a whole chicken beer-can style using this barbecue I can confirm it’s well worth the money. The dual burners allow you to maintain the regular temperature that you need with the lid down.

Works well though takes a lot of time to build
A fine gas BBQ at a good price. Not at all easy to build so make sure to follow the instructions absolutely!!! It works fine though once built. There was some confusing answers to questions. The BBQ I received was set up to be used without lava rock. It does appear it can be converted for se with lava rock but I would need to buy a grid of a specific size for the rock to sit on.

Waste of money
The middle of the cooking area cooks fast and burns easily even on low. Low isn’t very low !! It’s an Aussie bbq, having lived there for years I can honestly say it’s the worst bbq I’ve ever had - won’t be bothering with it for a second summer - waster of money

Grill em up
Bought this after the last one had finally given up performing. Its big enough to cook for friends and small enough to not take up too much space outside. Build quality seems very robust, comes with bricks already, bought some more just to fill the area better. Cooks well with no cool spots. Just need a cover now to protect it.

BIG DIY Assembly required!
NOT IMPRESSED! For a well known and supposedly good BBQ brand like Outback I was expecting the product to come with at least the majority of its working parts already assembled and that I might need to just screw the legs and the handle on....! The first warning sign was the very large assorted pack of screws and bolts! 2 hours later and I finally completed the BBQ even down to installing the separate ignitions. This is a joke. If I had known that I was doing the whole assembly job for the Outback company I would never have bought it. If you just want a BBQ to buy and use then don’t buy this one!

Flame tamer, unfortunately
The BBQ came with a flame tamer, have modified it to use with lava rock having purchased a new lava rock grate. Did try it first with the tamer, took too long to cook, decided to use the alternative, my preference anyway
