LA Rush: Showdown (PSP)
A**N
Fun, but slanted
After many failed attempts to get the LA RUSH PC version (in Spain is not available and it not seems possible to import it), I was so impatiently waiting for the PSP version. After all, I'm a huge fan of games with highly detailed real cities and free roaming mode. I loved the so accurate rendition of Los Angeles in TRUE CRIME STREETS OF L.A, but always thought that it was a shame that it didn't include the LAX area and the SOUTH BAY (as well as one or two more parts of the Greater L.A, like GRIFFITH PARK).Well, the truth is: I find the L.A neighborhoods to be incredibly well recreated in LA RUSH, but I miss something: the freeways!!!. Why did MIDWAY do that?. It's a terrible mistake (maybe I am the one mistaken and I have to progress in story mode, in order to unlock them, I don't know... but that doesn't seem to be the problem). It's terrible because neighborhoods aren't connected between them, so you cannot drive from one neighborhood to another!. You cannot drive along f....ng Santa Monica freeway because it's not there!. And I believe the PS2, the PC and the XBOX versions DO contain the freeways, so... WHY!!!.Anyway I have fun strolling down SOUTH CENTRAL while an army of police patrols try to catch me along the streets. And LAX is incredibly detailed, but again... they have put it at western edge of... SOUTH CENTRAL!!!. That is not the Los Angeles International Airport location!!!. LAX is located in Westchester, a neighborhood south of SANTA MONICA, VENICE, MARINA DEL REY and the LOS ANGELES RIVER!!!. And if you try to drive down those locations, of course you won't get to LAX, and the only thing you will find is a closed road. Again: WHY!!!.
