Excellent for frequent travelers
Summary of the key points:The Sotsul display:+ Has excellent build quality with an aluminum finish+ Matches the quality of your MacBook Pro+ Has no protruding buttons+ Comes with a protective bag with foam padding+ Appears more durable and better suited for travel+ Plug and play, easy to set up and connect to my Mack Book Pro+ Great for Professionals and occasional Netflix (not a gamer so can't judge)- Features 400 nits brightness, which you find satisfactory but could be slightly higherMy previous display I purchased:- Cost about half as much- Had a plastic casing that proved to be fragile- Buttons were exposed and vulnerable to damage- Broke after just three trips through airport security. Buttons were pushed in, rendering brightness adjustment impossible, Got stuck at 35% brightnessImportant Highlights when choosing a portable display, especially for frequent travelers:- Build quality: The aluminum chassis of the Sotsul seems far more durable than the plastic of my previous model.- Button design: The absence of protruding buttons on the Sotsul is a significant improvement for durability.- Protective accessories: The included foam-padded bag adds an extra layer of protection.- Brightness: While 400 nits is good, but could be slightly higher.Price vs. longevity: The more expensive Sotsul seems to offer better value in the long run due to its durability.

Great for Multitasking!
As a university student, this monitor has been a lifesaver for my studies. Having research papers open on one screen and my coding projects on the other has boosted my work efficiency. When I only need one screen for studying, I use this monitor to relax with movies or shows, and the Full HD 1080p resolution is fantastic!Setting up the monitor with my 14” MacBook Pro was easy. The monitor is super portable and fits well in my laptop bag, so I can easily carry it to the library or a coffee shop.I absolutely love the rose-gold color. It adds a nice touch of style. The screen is bright and vibrant, making everything look great. The monitor's pivot hinge is a great feature; I usually turn it vertically when I'm coding and rotate it back when I'm watching videos. It's super convenient. Very satisfied!

first impressions are WOW
I'd purchased a cheap $100 portable monitor and returned it immediately. It required ac power and they provided a 2.5 ft cord. Insane. This monitor by contrast is great. Great fit and finish and great screen clarity. I'm using two of these on my windows laptop. One is connected via a USB-C that provides both power and the video signal. The 2nd Sotsu is connected via HDMI with another USB cable for power.Couldn't be happier with the quality of the images, the ease of setup, and the very low power consumption that allows me to plug it all into the laptop. No separate AC cord required.Though more expensive, I think these will be worth it in the long run. Really study construction. I have the stands which offer great versatility in positioning and height. Very happy with this purchase. The only thing remaining is durability.

Couple of advantages, a couple of shortcomings
First I'll say that the technology of all of these portable monitors is pretty amazing. That they can operate on so little (powered from your phone or the smallest of battery banks) is amazing. And the color quality is impressive. The SOTSU is significantly more expensive than its competitors, and there are a couple of features that help justify the price. But there are also features that may undercut those benefits. At 400 nits, the monitor is 25% brighter than most of the competition and is usable even in bright light. The unit is also all metal, giving it a sleek and durable look and feel. The swiveling base is an ingenious design, though I found the menu button, while clever, to be a bit futzy. The inherent aspect ratio is 16:9, which is great for watching videos (or in my case, producing videos). It can run with just a single USB-C cable from your phone, receiving both power and video signal; or with via HDMI input with a small power bank. These are all top-notch features. But there are shortcomings as well. It doesn't have speakers, so there's no audio from the monitor itself (and others do). The refresh rate is 60Hz, which is more than enough for work tasks, watching video, and video production, but lags when it comes to gaming-- and is lower than some other, less expensive monitors. The 14 inch size is perfect for my use-- very easily transported-- but, again, smaller than some of the competition. These issues, especially the lack of audio, undercut the value when it comes to the high price point (at the time of writing it was $260). If the price drops, the superior build quality (metal design) will really shine. The colors, incidentally, are very bright but a little oversaturated out of the box. This can be adjusted in the menus.
