Great little torch
Main reason I went for V3 because it has magnetic cap, on some occasions it is god sent. Has 3 decent light modes, with good spacing too. Clip could be beefier though, hardly fits on a baseball cap to use as a head torch.

Fantastic light
Great little Torch great size , unbelievable brightness for the compact form factor of the tool , really great build quality. Had the little torch for a few months now use it daily and still not changed the battery so the battery life if fantastic also having three diff brightness modes and a magnetic tail end proves the functionality is great for the money

v2 is much better. v3 is critically flawed
I am a long-time owner of the E12 v2. It is the one device that is always in pocket, every day of the week. So, I was looking forward to the v3. Fenix have introduced a critical flaw in this update. Buy the v2 instead if you can.Cons of v3:- Not as compact as the v2. (The v2 and v3 head and body are not compatible either.)- Pocket clip is flimsy. The pocket clip on the E12 v2 is sturdy and didn't need changing.- Memory mode. Not the kind of thing a user wants if it can't be disabled. The problem is if you accidentally knock the torch into high before turning it off or forget that its on high, you might get all 200 lumens in your eyes when reaching for the torch in the middle of the night. You add light to a scene as needed to preserve night vision.Pros of the v3:- None - At least Fenix is still making compact AA torches, so there is hope of a v3b or a v4.Other notes:- Still no low-low output. 5lm is the lowest level (same as v2). A light like this should start at 1 lumen or lower.- 200lm output is redundant and is just marketing. If you want a super bright light, you're buying something that uses 14500 batteries. The v2 with alkaline or NiMH, is more than bright enough.- Magnetic tail cap. I could take it or leave it. The all-metal button does feel good in hand but then so did the rubber one on the v2.In summary the v3 is a downgrade of the v2. The biggest issue is not being able to disable memory mode. That kills the product. I am going to pick up another v2 to have as a backup in case my current v2 dies although so far the v2 has been bullet proof. Some other torches I own that are similarly priced and specced are the Manker E03H III and Acebeam H16. They are both right angled torches but both better in every way than the Fenix E12 v3.
