The transparent material is great because it lets the beautiful color of my laptop shine through, and the matte finish feels nice to the touch. It’s thin, which is exactly what I wanted to avoid adding bulk. The problem, and why it's not a five-star review, is in the corners. They're a bit flimsy. I haven't dropped my laptop (knock on wood), but I'm not confident this case would protect the corners from a serious fall. It feels like if I were to bump it just right on a table edge, one of the corner tabs would crack. It's a great case for protecting against minor daily wear and tear and keeping your laptop looking new. It's a fantastic shield against scratches from your backpack or desk. But for a klutz like me who is always a few seconds away from disaster, it's not a full suit of armor. Four stars for style and everyday protection, but minus one for a slight case of corner anxiety.

Of course, I've covered it with stickers, which can come off with the shell and not affect the MacBook should I want to sell it later. A simple, effective case that protects well and looks great doing it.
