More time needed.?
Being that I just purchased these and installed them, how could I give it a true assessment and an honest review. I also purchased front struts (KYB Gas a just) but have not Installed yet. I’m excited and really looking forward to installing the front struts to see how much the ride of my truck improves. I have not changed any suspension whatsoever on my 2002 Toyota Tacoma pre-runner 3.4 L. Being that it’s 18 years old. So I do expect improvement but how much.? I will soon find out.I’m one of those guys that usually wants to buy the best whatever it is. So in the back of my mind I’m somewhat second-guessing myself thinking I should’ve purchased one of the many higher end struts and shocks. But more than a couple people told me yeah I just get the KYB‘s you’ll be good to go. One thing that bothered about buying the KYB’s I cannot for the life of me find where they had the coil’s premium installed with this right. I cannot for the life of me find KYB struts with preinstalled coils. The brand names that had that package were in my opinion lower quality or they were the high-end quality for off-road. And that price tag was way too much for my liking. I will have those installed here shortly and I will give a review on the struts.

Good value, good shocks but maybe a bit stiff
These perfectly fit a 2004 Tacoma Xtracab 4WD 6cyl 3.4I blew one of the OEM shocks and the other one wasn't looking too good. With a Bolt Buster heat induction tool to remove the bolts, installation was VERY easy. The shocks come strapped, but I think that's just for proper shipping. I mounted the shock to the UPPER first, cut the strap and just pushed the bottom up into place to secure it. You don't need superman strength to compress the shocks enough to get them mounted, there isn't that much resistance that a normal man couldn't do it.These shocks are a definite improvement over the old shocks, but I would say that the ride is a bit "truck-like." They provide excellent control on corners and with loads, but it's all a bit stiff, in my opinion. We also noticed that these shocks have the rear of the truck sitting a little higher, but that may be due to the fact that the 150,000 mile OEM shocks were all worn out.

seem to be of good value
I just use these for on-road with occasional dirt road use but nothing aggressive. I have used them under heavy loads. They see to be holding up fine after a year or so.

New life for my '01 Tacoma
The twitchy highway ride is gone. Minor potholes and pavement bumps don't upset the truck's suspension (or lack thereof) anymore. So glad I finally replaced those old shocks.

Highly recommended for your stock suspension’88 4runner
These were an easy install, I can’t imagine it being easier. Once installed couldn’t be happier, front haven’t been installed as of yet, but the shocks virtually lifted my whole truck 1-2”, mostly because the shocks I removed were completely shot. These definitely had more spring or expand ability to them then any other shock I’ve installed.

1999 Tacoma 4x4 Sr5 - Great
I bought two of this same model number. They came with rubber bushing painted silver on the edges. They were in great condition. the replacement took me 30min. The only tricky part was cutting the band to allow them to extend and they extended faster than I was able to push it on to the lower mount. I just jacked the truck up a bit more and pushed it on at full flex. They have changed the drive comfort of my old truck.

Good product for a good price
Shocks were strapped on receipt. Passenger side was at the perfect length and it went right on. Top nut took a little more convincing since the new bushings were definitely more rigid. Driver side was just a little to short so I had to cut the strap causing it to fully expand. Took some effort to get it compressed to the right length. Like the passenger side, the top nut took a little convincing to get it threaded back on. All in all, very happy with the purchase and the price. Expect the ride to be better since the original shocks had almost 200,000 miles on them.

Shocks for Toyota tacoma
I have had these shocks on now for a couple of years with no issues. I use my truck for everything and the pan as always got weight in it. Also I live in a area where it can be -35 or cold for weeks and shocks have held up.

Great replacement shocks for 2000 Tacoma 4wd.
Replaced the 20 year old stock shocks (pictured) in my 4wd Taco with these, and so far I’m very happy. They were delivered quickly, packaged well, and fit precisely. Installation was a breeze. The trick to installing is to connect the top bolt first. Do not cut the plastic strap compressing the shocks! When you are ready to fit the lower bolt on, cut the strap, and immediately push into the lower bolt as the shock extends. Piece of cake! Ride quality and rear tire vibration was improved. Hope they last as long as the original! Very happy. Would buy again.

DO NOT BUY!!!
Poor product, do not purchase. Would not recommend, extremely poor quality, better off buying “Autoshack special” and cutting to fit. Was told no return if I did not send back “broken on arrival” shocks. No refund until returned, no point in sending back as it costs nearly half the price to ship back at my expense... piss poor
