*** PETUNIA 'DUO ROSE WHITE'*** The double Petunia from a small beginning, has developed into a fabulous flower that puts on a spectacular show all summer. The double varieties now available are remarkably big, and rank with some of the most beautiful subjects in the garden where, for a riotous splash of color and a glowing display, they are second to none. As cut flowers for long lasting arrangements, double petunias are supreme. Colors are various and equally lovely arranged in a rich luxuriant mass or as points of accent with longer stemmed flowers. This series has a better habit than traditional double Multifloras, with superior branching and more compact plants. The Duo series stays compact in trays, pots, window boxes and in the garden, and produces more flowers per plant. These Petunias have a higher germination and flower up to one week earlier than other doubles, therefore cutting production time. The Duo series has more uniform double flowers in the widest range of colours available. Also because they are Multifloras, the plants hold up well in the garden and recover quickly after rain. Sowing: Sow indoors from February, 8 to 10 weeks before last frost. Petunias flower early and are covered with stunning blooms. They like the sun and often bloom within two months from seed and continue throughout the season until killed by the frost. They are easily cultivated, requiring rich soil and full sun. They grow best in high-moisture areas with well-drained soils, but can adapt to most soil types. Established plants are drought resistant, requiring less dry-weather maintenance than other plants. Plant seeds 6mm (¼in) inch apart, in rows 7cm (3in) apart and gently firm (especially the corners), so you don't get erosion when watering. Do not cover the seed, as the seeds need light to germinate. Provide light and constant warmth of 21 to 27°C (70 to 80°F).
