Jute came in black bag. Thought at first it was the color of the rope.

I spent at least an hour on Amazon trying to find a compostable twine that would fit my needs. I had no idea it would be so hard. While many of the items have good reviews, upon closer examination, they are often not relevant to what I needed the twine for - namely wrapping branches. It was really unclear what load twine can handle.After reading reviews for this one, I noticed that many people said it was good for the branches and I took a chance. I was not disappointed! This twine is really strong. I pulled on it pretty hard and it never broke. Totally worth it if that's what you are looking for. And it doesn't smell at all. Highly recommended.

Update: I was contacted by the seller a second time. They were very cordial and apologetic and offer acceptable solutions.Arrived without wrapping or labeling in a plain white plastic mail bag partially unravelled and with the end frayed and appearing to have been cut. I contacted the seller and they asked for pictures, I sent them but they never contacted me again which leads me to believe they were not surprised by the condition I recieved the cord. I kept it as I needed it right away. I ran out after only making one small 1.5 gallon basket and a 7" plate which leads me to believe it was not a full 300 feet as advertised but i did not measure it out so i cannot be sure but I have done more with less cord. As other reviewers have stated there is a very strong smell, I assume they used JBO in processing.

It was loosely wound, it could have been tighter. It will be used in my garden for zucchini and cucumber to grow up it.

Seems to be adequate for my use of bundling six pieces of chopped wood for future camping trips.There was a moderate chemical smell when i opened bundle.Twine appears to have been spun into a spool by machine but then handled by clumpsy humans.The 1st 1/8th of the spool was unspun and lumped on top of spool so that it was slightly messy getting it going.

This is twine. Works great for all twine related needs. I've made a few macrame related items and it worked well. It does smell a little bit odd when it's in the spool, but it hasn't bothered me once it's out in the wild.

This is very nice quality 3-strand twisted jute. It will work well for crafts and does NOT have “stringy” sections with peeling fibers like some jute. It did NOT have a strong chemical smell. It smells like natural fibers. I would buy it again.

This is the perfect size for the crafts that my wife makes. She absolutely loves it it's exactly what we thought it would be when we ordered it. Great value
