£25 well spent
Unlike many reviewers of this product I have years of experience epilating, so I'm hoping I can clear up some of the bad stuff people have posted.Anyway, my Braun silk was knocking on, & the battery failing, so I thought I'd go for a straight replacement. But the nag for me is the price & the "Braun bite" caused by the stupid "safety" cover over the rollers, I used to leave it off "dangerous me"!So when I saw this cheapo, with not too many bells & whistles, & free returns with Prime, it was a no brainer. Now I've only used it a couple of times, so obviously I cannot comment on it's longevity. But the first was a full body job, excepting under arms & the crown jewels (not that brave or stupid). Nor obviously the face.My findings -Very powerful motor, far more so than the Braun when new. This resulted in a less painful experience. If you do not like/or cannot tolerate pain why are you thinking of buying an epilator?Take no notice of how many nippers this little devil has, it's its speed that makes the difference, also the width of the rollers is comparable to the Braun silk, which means you cover the same amount of area in one pass. Also consider I'm a guy, so need it to give a good tug. If you are of a downy disposition then use speed 1, & it will be more effective. You can use this epilator as cordless, or with the recharging lead (mine came with a UK 3 pin plug) connected to any plug socket around your home.I found the battery life to be very good, but again I don't know the quality of the battery in the unit.I like the grip, it feels much more comfortable & secure in my hand than the Braun does. Finally, its effectiveness -No, it will not pull out all of your hair in one pass, & you will not find an epilator on the market that will! Your hair does not grow uniformly, so you WILL need to pass over some hairs a few times at different angles to tweeze them out. It takes time to do a proper job, & unfortunately the longer it takes the more torture you will put yourself through. As for observations on other reviews -"Noisy" - WTF - it's powerful, you should expect it to make a bit of a din! & I personally don't find it noisy."Gets hot" - that was not my experience, & I used it long & hard the first time."Not waterproof" - Who in there right mind wants to use it in the shower/bath? Find a nice comfortable spot around the house with decent light (so you can monitor your progress), put a towel down & get it done."It hurts" - of course it does, it's an instrument of torture! Don't be swayed by your mate, they all make you wince."Can't be used on bikini line" - yes it can, but as with all epilators don't use it before getting dressed to go out. Do your mowing & then slip on your jimmy jams.Hope this helps..............

Good but not great
Not as good as my Braun one was that finally gave up the ghost but it is ok..careful with underarm as i pressed a little too hard to get to some hair and nipped my skin but really good value

Brilliant
Have always used epilators instead of shaving as lasts longer and legs seem smoother. I was gutted when my old one packed up as had it years and would have to go through looking at all the varieties and price tags. This one i have had at least a year now and is still as good as the day i got it (yes it has been used once a week not just occassionally). Due to it being cordless and waterproof it ticked all the boxes (as best way for less bumps and more hairs out is to have warm bath and use it in there) it charges up very quickly and having the 2 settings is very helpful. The head is just a nice size to be able to use on bikini areas as well as legs. It can be painful which gets less everytime you use it. However what i have found is the warmer the body, with the hairs not too long (maybe max 5mm) the less it tingles and as said before in warm bath less bumps. Would recommend this to anyone and would honestly say don't just use once and dismiss it is an aquired tingly feeling you get whilst it's plucking (kinda like pins and needles) and some areas are certainly more sensitive than others!!! But on a whole it's certainly cheaper and i believe more effective than waxing. Plus the hairs do seem to get thinner. Hope this helps.

Didn't leave legs smooth/ shaver cut me
This was my first time trying an epilator. I done loads of research beforehand on how to do it properly, before during and after. Yes it hurt but I managed my way through it with some determination. Fully charged and using it unplugged, it lasted 30 minutes before dying. I finished the rest with it in the charger. It seemed to have some trouble pulling hairs out, having to go over parts multiple times and in the end I had to leave a few stray hairs that it refused to pull out. Even though a majority of the hairs seemed totally gone, my legs were never smooth. They felt like one day past shaving legs. Too much pain time and effort for an imperfect result, no thank you. A friend then recommended me an alternative hair removal process which I am going to try next... Luckily for me, I thought, this also comes with a lady shaver head, so this tool wouldn't go to total waste. My preference ever since I started growing pubic hair is to use a lady shaver. It's what I've used weekly for about 10 years. So I thought this could be a replacement for my battery operated lady shaver. Tried it tonight, started on the bikini line, seemed weirdly painful. And then blood started coming from every hair follicle I'd just shaved over. Stung like hell, never experienced anything like it before. No idea what caused it, in my experience lady shavers have always been pretty fool proof/cut proof. So I give this a big fat PASS all over. Total waste of £21.
